    I've been Money Tipped!
Are sterling travellers cheques readily accepted in France, or should I get Euro cheques? Considering buying my euros from the Post Office, seem OK. I have applied for a Nationwide Flex Account but cutting it very fine for the card and PIN to arrive in time before leaving for trip. If I get Euros from the Post Office etc can I get them there and then, or do I have to wait til next day etc. Kicking myself about not applying earlier for Flex Account, just assumed I wouldn't be eligible due to account conditions etc but was told that it would be fine to just pay cash in over the counter, I thought a BACS would have to be set up etc. Oh well.... you live and learn. Would I maybe be better to pay money to my Nationwide Credit card? Any info gratefully received.

I would say stick to Euro TC's for France. How long are you going for? It might be better just buying normal Euro's rather than having to fuss around with TC's.

cannae tell you about France, hope you get your Nationwide card in time, they are great just use ATM machines abroad you will get more Euros too for your money as you dont get the tourist rate, you should get your Euros right away in the PO it depends on the size of it I suppose, dont use your credit card even if you have it in credit you will still be charged,I think.

Some people believe that if you 'preload' your credit card you can avoid 1.5% cash advances fee. I don't think so. It is better to check (and double-check!) with Nationwide. Of course, you can use your NW card for purchases without any charges. Just make sure you pay in euros (not ££s!) -
