I would like to join this month please. I didnt do March as was on holiday and wasnt moneysaving enough to know what was coming from which budget.

Anyway, I would usually budget £200 as quite a controlled budget, but going to really try and stick to £150 as we have had some very expensive vets bills which will be ongoing for a while. Need to cut the food bill to avoid going into the overdraft.
  • Due to a large vet's bill we need to tighten the belts a bit this month, so I can be down for £120 please?

Having spent the last three months using up store cupboard and freezer stocks I think we might struggle, but needs must sometimes!

Okay, Worked out a vague plan for the month.

Two meals out with work colleagues, so I'm upping my budget to £175 (allowing £25 per night out)this month but will be a little disappointed if I can't manage to pull it back over the next couple of months.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I've been away a long time, but need to get back to money saving properly, starting with the GC. :) Please can I go down for £300 for April for a start, hoping I won't need all that though! It's for 2 adults, 2 children and a cat, all found.

    Thanks :)

    A xo

  • Well, after a disastrous March in which I lost complete track of all food spends due to illness, guests and more illness I am stepping into April with renewed vigour!
So planned spends for April are going to be ( and I mean that)

    150

    Good luck everyone.

  • Hello all :)

I would like to rejoin please as have noticed the groceries creeping up to about £225 a month so hoping the challenge will keep me on track again.

    So aiming for £200
for 2 adults and a ravenous teen boy who is constantly "starving"

DH paid today so April starts today for us, he is also starting a new job Monday and he does not know yet when new pay day is :o We also hand the company vehicle back today and dh will be commuting into London so no more beloved Aldi as to far on public transport but I have a plan and will make it work :T

    Good luck everyone
