This looks like the kind of thread I need to be on!
I'm single and buy way too much food and end up throwing things away and feel terrible about it.
I shall take a browse in the hopes this will help me get it under control. (No, I don't meal plan. I don't really cook, which is probably a bit part of my problem!)0 -
Thanks for the thread zippy chick
Can I be put down for £240 please. This is to cover all food, in and out of the house plus toiletries and cleaning things for 2 adults and 2 teens for 4 weeks.
My months run funny so I'm already a week in to my April and I've spent well over half of my budget already:eek:
I have plenty in though so I just need to stay out of the shops £36/£240

Add me for £250 this month as I have family staying at least twice and will have some meals out and fish suppers included in that cost as I love to treat them. :j0

Morning all!!
Lots of rain here up north, as we here at parents for a few days.
This month from 25th March my budget will be [/B] £160.
An hoping that the colour works, doing this on my phone.
Thanks for starting the new thread.0 -
I'm on a 5 week month so aiming for £330 this month, back to £260 next month.
Started 24th for me and had to do a big shop then, topped up today at the farm shop for fruit bread and milk so going to add another £9.49 to signature. Planning on £50 a week shops with £10 top ups for the rest of the month, fingers crossed. Meal plans all done0 -
I'm in, not sure how much I actually spend at the moment, apart from too much.. I need to drastically reduce the spending.
So working on £100 a week, I will put down £430 for the month of April. Which is a stupid amount to spend but I think it's a lot less than I am spending at the moment, this is probably going to be a shock to the system.
I will go have a look at the links and also do a food inventory before the start of the month.0 -
I would love to join this! We've set ourselves a weekly budget of £80 but I am a bit anxious as food is our main haemorrage point for money. It's also a bit difficult as my husband is coeliac.
However a good start today when we realised that cat food in tins is about half the price of sachets. Plus of course you can recycle the tins.
I realise i may be the last person in the world to realise this0 -

Hi Persephone_Mulberry - Have you considered buying catfood online?
I don't know what you normally feed, but lots of supermarket catfood is both overpriced and actually not good for cats (full of grains and sugar, like you and me eating macdonalds everyday)
This was the first type of grain free wet food I tried - http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/canned_cat_food_pouches/bozita/bozita/554660
Currently £10 for 12 packs, plus if you decide to stock-up and spend £75+ there's a code I can PM for a 5% discount and you'd get free delivery (plus if you go via toipcashback you get another 2% back).
I normally stock-up every 6 months on wet, dry and litter. It costs me around £200 for three cats. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
