I normally record so I can skip ads but any time with Barry Scott and

    "cillit bang"

is too much and that's the only ad that makes avoid a product because the ad is so bad.

    Bring back the puppies!

Yes, this is so hideous. Nothing like watching a bunch of brats make reference to wiping their !!!! while sitting down to eat your tea.

I'd also like to mention the horror show of an advert that is the Admiral woman on her first day - who on earth approved this utter crock of !!!!!!? I mean surely someone at Admiral, at some stage, said "this is !!!!!! isn't it?"

As an added bonus; I'd like to mention the advert for "LOr!al Revitalift Laser Renew" - I'll not go into how stupid I think using the word "laser" in the name of a CREAM is, what's this meant to do exactly? Make people think your pot of overpriced crap is as effective as laser surgery? How stupid do you think people are?

No, that's not the worst thing.

The words thing is their "comparison" between two different pictures designed to show how the product has worked - I'm in complete disbelief that the ASA haven't banned this rubbish as the "before" picture is in black and white and the "after" picture is in colour, therefore of course the skin is going to look better in the "after" colour picture rather than the black and white one  Who thinks of this utter balls!

I can't stand the Andrex one either, mostly because the similes the children come up with don't make sense! I teach kids that age and they'd do much better.
I also don't understand why every child voice used in the Haribo adverts has to have a speech impediment.

    Why is everyone complaining ?
Some of the adverts are better than the programmes.

If an advert makes you remember the name of a product and you then buy that product either because of a conscious decision or because there was something in the back of your mind, then yes, I would say that the advert has worked.

However, if you remember the advert but that advert made you decide not to buy the product in question, then I wouldn't say that it worked as the ultimate reason for advertising is to sell more of a product or service.

The equity release ad (I think) featuring a couple (from Liverpool) and the travel insurance one where the wife wants her mother with arthritis to go on holiday with them. I detest both and clearly their ads aren't working as I haven't the faintest idea what company they are advertising.

I do like the advert for the biscuits when the grey kittens come out of the packets, my cat watches the TV when it comes on!
