If you are comparing 20K in Santander at 3% = £600 gross in the year then you could do...

    5K at 4% LLoyds
    2K at 5% TSB
2.5K at 5% Nationwide (need to confirm this one)
    2 * 3K at 3% Tesco or BOS
    That's 15.5K paying £605 interest per year

    For £5!

Easier giving up a pint and bag of chips once a year ;)
I was answering the OP's question
whats easiest way to get £50 interest a month in current accounts apart from santander123. thanks
I providied a list of current accounts and balances that would generate £50/month in interest.
I was not saying this was better than Santander - just providing a list of current accounts that would do that. If you are so concerned that I "overshot" by £5 then reduce the balance on one of the accounts to compensate.

I was not making reference to you at all not being helpful which you were, just the general easy way with one account for a fiver saving was easily achieved by minus 1 lunch a year was substantially easier admin for anyone instead of multiple accounts :)

It's a bit obsessive to have numerous accounts and admin for £5 a year -50p a month, some people have numerous jobs where time (or even effort for £5) is easily discounted by 1 account and a small annual sacrifice ;)
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

    I's not about the £5
The question was about an alternative to Santander. Not "Can I get more than £50 a month interest?"

Personally I'd keep the £20K in Santander but the OP was looking for a alternative.

Which bank offers accounts for £5/yr, or has a £5/yr charge?

How would £5/yr equate to 50p a month?

Who on MSE has ever recommended a £5/yr account? Never mind that such accounts don't exist, and that nobody has ever had, or recommended, one, and certainly not "numerous" ones of them.

Once you have sorted out your grammar, would you please answer the questions asked earlier:

I said £5 saved on a lack of 1 beer and portion of chips purchase, once a year!

£5 a year is not far off 50p saving a month for multiple accounts

both points ^ over 1 account with Sintander.

I again did not say that last point of yours nor anything your fantasy points above imply :rotfl: but its ok for you to believe such, you are not hurting anyone (externally).

I hated your perpetual and nonsensical ":rotfl:" on the Mobiles board.
    And I hate them here.
Something is definitely wrong with your SOH.

Oh well best you be back over there then...

The amount of self appointed powerless mods trolling on MSE who feel the need to inject when someone posts past their daily rate and get territorial about such in the last 5 years is nothing short of: :rotfl:

This place was a absolute great community once, that behaviour was reserved for other websites and MSE shone because it was different, people were polite and trolling was a nono a REAL appointed mod on here would not tolerate.

    Enjoy the mobiles board :)
