For somebody who hasn't held various accounts for years(*), it is impossible to make anywhere near £20 a month in interest and rewards from TSB and Halifax only.

TSB Plus gross interest is in the region of £8 a month.
Halifax reward is £5 a month.

So there you are with your "just under £20" --- £13.

If you added the TSB Plus cashback, you can make a max of another £5 a month, bringing you closer to the "just under £20" you mentioned.

If you added the TSB Monthly Saver, you could add another £80ish a year, equating to ~£6.66 a month, but obviously only paid at the end of 12 months.

(*) Those fortunate enough to have started using multiple current accounts years ago, the picture is very different as they are entitled to many more accounts than recent/new applicants.

Correct, £18 a month....just under £20 so as ^you said IMPOSSIBLE^, its not, is there no less fortunate soul you can successfully troll on MSE ? You are wasting carbon on server electricity and Moneysupermarket's hosting costs.

"Those fortunate" ?? I have like others opened several (3) current accounts of recent, another 3 already, 1 unused, a great credit file allows such multiple current account openings not time period, that picture is only different in your head^ it is not fact.

I have held various accounts at many institutions for many years, I done the MSE thing and paid my credit off as priority. I now am maximising my savings, using old accounts to do transfers. I certainly am not being treated any less by banks or are others applying for such than the 'elite' for years that whom seem to be again in your headspace...

Easiest would be to start with how much cash you have, and what if any multiple current accounts you may already have.

Next Q would be whether you actually need the monthly interest or whether you could live with annual interest - the latter would significantly increase the interest you can earn over a year.

Further Q would be whether you have exhausted all the switching offers already.

But that would involve OP in some effort in providing basic information, responding to questions and reading (and understanding) T&Cs. Sadly, based on posting history, he/she is unable/unwilling to engage in those ways:cool:

Do you actually comprehend the difference between interest, rewards and cashback ?

you should accept that you don't have the experience of people who have been in the multiple current account game for half a decade and longer, simply because you do not have the experience. I won't be explaining why having 30+ current accounts, each with its own particular purpose, is a good place to be in, simply because new applicants can no longer benefit from having that number of current accounts.

well done for paying off your debts, many people can learn from you in that regard.

Nobody ever claimed that banks will treat people different when applying for new accounts. Only you are talking about 'elite' applicants - something that appears to just exist in your head. There still is a difference between existing account holders and new applicants, even if the difference is not obvious to you. As I said above, I won't be explaining it as it is irrelevant for new applicants.

Quite. Even a basic Grammarly check would already be a significant improvement. Although Grammarly does nothing to help people understand the income sources of a Nation.

Can those stop trolling me from the start...ie the Halifax thread where continually disagreed using Save The Change to top up my 6% M&S RS to max with 5% interest and 5% cashback, STOP jumping on other threads trolling.

I'm sorry someone succeeding 78% of their income in savings monthly is seen as a competitive measure - I never signed up for that, had those been on the debt free wannabe for 10 years struggled past that major achievement to this major achievement of 78% savings to get off state dependency of Housing Benefit for a better life whilst refusing PIP/DLA in the intern.

Giving I'm doing what George wants its a cheek the behaviour on here from a few on here I'm doing things wrong whilst I'm succeeding past most per month on 1/3 less than Jobseekers Allowance is a negative point, the DFW board is full of support, however the transition to the money board is vulgar from a minority.

I reported a bank member of staff for breaching Data Protection Act by shouting across a branch loud enough I was in receipt of DWP benefits and she rightful was reprimanded for it by her employer... yet again I'm trolled because she broke the law as well as her banks customer care charter, then called a liar, a thief and have mental health issues?

Again here you are trolling another post of mine...

Is there really any need? its not negative to me, I feel sorry for people who have the need to troll others for self security and/or satisfaction.

If you cant understand well so be it, maybe a qualified english or maths teacher will pop along and explain. Here is a BBC thing that might useful http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/learners

Zak if you have any other requests please do post, self appointed mods are not the best person to make your choices you are...you know your circumstances but if any of the MSE community can chip in some help you are free to ask and again make your own decisions for your circumstances :)
