Factory reset on Moto G - what will I lose?

I used something called "SMS backup and restore." It needed an add-on called "Add-on SMS backup and restore" to save the backup to the cloud. I've no idea if it was one of the better ones or not but it did the job. I think there may be a paid version but I only used the free one.
I've also used Motorola Migrate to move stuff to a new Motorola phone. It worked very well and because we've bought several Moto Gs we've tested it a few times.
I've used Motorola Migrate to move stuff from my last Motorola to this one. I also used it to move stuff to my first Motorola from my non Motorola phone.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and efficient it was.
Unfortunately, once your phone is on Marshmallow, Migrate is no longer available.

In that case, as well as backing up the .vcf to the SD card, also save it to cloud storage like dropbox or google drive, then if there are any issues with a factory reset wiping the SD card, you can restore it from the cloud.noelphobic wrote: »Because the SD card is set for internal storage I think everything on it would be deleted if I did a factory reset on my phone and/or removed it from the phone and/or reset it as portable storage0
