OH has been watching Luke Cage. The music is quite addictive.

DT was a fab doctor. Took me ages to warm to Matt Smith after him.

  • Question for you guys what would you do?

I had a phone call early off a lady from one of these companies that ring you up and try and get you a better deal on your mortgage. I spoke too the company about 4-5 years ago and they have obviously kept my details and called me back. Re our mortgage we were with Ge money but 6-8 months ge money sold off part of there mortgage business and switched us too Kensington mortgages.

Everything with Kensington seems fine, we owe 69700, our repayment is 416 pm but we were paying 450 due too the low base rate at the minute. The next two payments on our mortgage are 485 with me being off work and on ssp we got a little bit of arrears.

Our monthly interest is around 230-240 pm (with Kensington you can check your account online).

The woman on the phone was adamant she could save us money on our mortgage I am just thinking would it be worth it?? I think the interest we are paying is 3.5 above base.

They are calling back in 2-3 days.

  • I'd say take it as an interesting idea, but look at the MSE Mortgage calculators, and also consider talking to another broker? I *think* there was something about mortgages in the weekly email this week? Remember to factor in any early repayment charges, and also fees for new deals. There are certainly some amazing rates out there at the moment, and the thinking seems to be that they may not last that much longer, so possibly a good time to look around.

I assume you'd look at leaving your monthly payment at the level it is, and so reducing the term a bit?

:rotfl::rotfl: at the idea of you at the end of the lead with 4 huskies going full-tilt! Must be a wee bit like water skiing, only without the water?!

That Guinness West Indian Porter is nice - I'm afraid you can keep your Trooper though! :rotfl::beer:

  • Well our mortgage was initially taken out over 30 years basically as we were both mid 20's and at the time we took out our mortgage through a packager as my partner had high debts. The mortgage was initially 8percent fixed for 2 years and the payments were quite steep around 700-800. We would look at reducing the term at the time ie 2007 this was all we could get on 100 percent mortgage.

Yeah i was thinking that re rates as we are gunna be here at least another 2-3 years the state of our debts.

Re monthly payment i think yeah i would leave as is ie 450 mark untill our debts are gone then i would pay 500-550. I will check out the calculators you mentioned and do a bit digging about.

Yeah with the dogs it can be like that lol

I wear one of these and the dogs are clipped too it by carabiner and i use 8 foot bungee leads which are great.

Its fine in the dry but in the wet/ice etc i wouldnt walk so many. I follow the principle if they can pull me on a rig at 20-30mph if i go flying i am screwed lol
We were at a race once with our dogs and a guy fell off his rig with his 8 dog team (8 huge boys) and he had clipped himself too his rig :-( the dogs dragged him a mile with bits of the rig slowly falling off as they pulled him and the rig.
