what type of work did you do in the past?
have you had long periods of unemployment in the past?
whilst the jobs v's unemployment times won't change their decision it may help understand the decision they have come to, or enable you to appeal it.

If you spent long periods unemployed then worked for a short time before being unemployed again - it looks different to being in a job for years, being unemployed for 3 weeks then being in another full time job for years

How can i even buy a push bike if ive got a tenner now . i wish that was even possible in some days I will not have electricity neither gas ... food wise well beans on toast really till tuesday and see what will happen ( already told my ex that i cant have the kids for the weekend since I cant feed them also

that also Is my main problem because of all this ops have been 3 in space of 3/4 years have been hard for me to maintain a job ... so been jumping from JSA/working and not receiving nothing at all .... even after all that ops i needed time to recover ... but not only that also having to cope with anxiety and panic attacks .... at the start of 2015 I had to do something and found yet again another job lasted around two months and half since on the last week I fainted two times and had to open up to my manager that i had panic attacks so we both decided that the pressure of the kitchen was too much and we both agreed that the better was for me and my health to be laid off ... went again to the doctors and he dose me up with sertraline plus other meds ... now im starting to feeling myself again and dont want to stay at home , I want to work and hope all this stuffs are pass and not my present or even future

My main issue here iust really how can he decide that and just cut my JSA off ? I have all the things of the doctor/hospital to prove everything of the pass and more to the case I also been doing everything that I was asked ... the only thing that was impossible for me was really that so called promise that u will have a job ...

Though that JSA was so u had some help while u look for work not like a time bomb ready to explode ? plus also im not in this country 1/2/3 years ... its 11 years .. taking this last ones ( because of what explained and with documents in my hands to show ) I have worked hard and payed all my taxes and all the stuffs ...

    so I will say :

2004 always working same job till 2010
2010 till 2012 I will say two years on JSA and joint claims ( but with me working sometimes part time since we had our hands full with two little ones and more two kids )
2012 basically when started all my issues with ops and also mental ( where i can show all the documents ) but because we was ok only with tax credits and child benefits no need to try and sponge the system with more stuffs
2015 tried to get back in routine and worked two months but didnt cope with the demand and had to be dosed up in more meds .. at the end of the 2015 started to feel myself again and time to give me a kick on the !!! and start again and this was the end result really ...

So they are right you have no real chance of work therefore their decision is right. You need to get a job ASAP
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life

What about going back there and telling the manager your health problems are now resolved?

bloolagoon that was my pass recent i cant hide it since was things that did happen that really was out of my control all 3 ops have been for health issues and before i never had nothing even with health always been 100% fit ... you can count with that last years but then again remenber i worked for several years in a go also

topcat and I done that atvthe start when whe sign for jsa one of the prioritys shud i say is that im active looking for work and that i dont have any issues with that ... my panic attacks and anxiety are controlled with meds and that at the moment is not causing me any troubles to look and find work . I also not have any more issues with my healt so that is also a go .....

As said I dont got a clue where the decision maker went to find out that i dont have chances to look for work ... now that I was finally starting to get my life straigh all this happens ... and have been some hard months had to deal with a divorce from a rela of nine years . was almost to be homeless plus didnt had any income when that did happened ... I know I need a job and I cant even survive with Jsa almost its like couting coins ( that now I will not even have that ) . but I also need the JSA to pay my bills and to eat till i can find that same job ...

even if i find a job lets say this next week i still will need to wait two weeks till im payed so barely will be two weeks with not eating nothing plus working ...

  • Why don't you apply for British Citizenship since you have been here for the last 11 years and most of the time you have worked.

You have to first apply for Permanent residency and after one year of being a permanent resident you can apply for British citizenship.

Once a British Citizen, you will have more privileges.

This thread is over a year old and the OP hasn't posted on this forum since, so there is little point in resurrecting it

Forget about benefits because as it stands, it isn't looking good and don't be surprise if next you hear that you do have no other options than to go back to Portugal and too bad if your kids don't get to see you any time soon.

You therefore have no other option but to find a job asap and for that, you need to make it an absolute priority
Been doing all that but I also live in a small town plus i dont drive what also is not helping me searching for that same jobs I need to rely on bus what shud I say are not famous in terms of hours and all that stuffs
Then you haven't been doing all you can. You need to apply for jobs outside of your town. Once you get the job, look for a room, anything there. Your priority is to get some money, any, so that you can stay in the country and feed and shelter yourself. When you've got that, you'll be able to focus on improving your situation, trying to get somewhere bigger, transportation etc... so that you can accommodate your kids too.

Not a great situation to be in when you've made UK your home for all those years, but that's what happens. You are not being kicked out yet, but you have to have a job to remain, no other options.
