They replied to me, seems I have made a mistake.

They charged £3.50 for the return and have only refunded the item returned not the original shipping £2.99 which amounts to 6.49

I feel silly now lol, my fault.

I'm not 100% sure they can charge for both shipping costs...

They can if there was more than one item purchased but only one returned, and the original shipping was priced per order and not per item.

If there was only one item in the order then the original shipping costs should also be refunded.

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper
So you were originally charged £25.48 so your refund should have been £25.48-£3.50 = £21.98.

They should not be deducting the original postage charge of £2.99 from your refund!

I only ordered the 1 item as you can see from my invoice, i then returned this using their postage labels.

Seems silly to me that they would charge me for both parts of postage.

It's nothing to do with terms, it's to do with the CCR (assuming you sent back within 30 days?)

It's not 'silly' in as much as they've had to pay for those postages, so why would they not try to get the customer who changed their mind to pay. So not 'silly'

However, legally they can only charge you for one lot.

And to throw in another curve ball ... if their T&Cs didn't say the buyer was liable for return costs then they may not even be able to charge those either. ;)

They do haha! It's complicated but they do say £3.50 is deducted from the refund to cover the cost.

Thanks for all the info, will get back to them and keep you posted. Such an amazing response, thanks everyone :)

After pressing them they have refunded me for the full order so result :)

Still not happy I had to check my bill and the inconvenience of this but I know for future, thanks a lot.
