Considering leaving Sky

After the announcement of the Sky price hike, I am looking into whether a different provider can give me the channels I watch. Can anyone help?

I watch the following channels:
All BBC channels
All ITV channels inc ITV Encore
All Channel 4 channels
All Channel 5 channels
Sky Living
Sky Atlantic
Sky 1 & 2
Comedy Central
Syfy
TLC
Film4
Watch
Gold
Dave
Universal
Fox
Alibi
Lifetime
Really

I have looked into Now Tv but am unsure as I have always been with Sky.

I also frequently use the catch up and Sky box sets.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I would have suggested a Freeview PVR + NOW TV - but your requirement for Syfy, TLC, Watch, Universal, Alibi & Lifetime scuppers it because those channels aren't available via either of those platforms. So keep looking unless you can compromise on those channels!

Update: Alibi, TLC, Watch & Lifetime, along with some other channels, are available via TV Player Plus (for a monthly fee).

Give your 30 days notice to Sky and wait for retentions to call...it won't be long.

I just gave notice via chat and got a call about 10 minutes later but just to say final bill will be 28th April. No offers and not much effort to keep me. I am not a great benefit to Sky as I have only a very basic package but I will save £360 or so by leaving. Probably off to the Humax shop now as the only part of Sky I ever really used was the pause & record.

We have Sky but we also bought a Humax for the conservatorya few ago, only one cost to buy the Humaxetc, you can record, pausee rewind,

If my OH didnt want Sky Sports, thats the way we would go, get sky gone and buy a humax, no monthy subs, Brilliant.

Same here we only have Sky for Sky Sports

Well, 12 days have passed and so far, nothing apart from a "why are you leaving" survey.

I gave notice because I felt the £30 odd pound a month was a waste considering how little paid for content I watched but it would have been nice if Sky had at least tried to persuade me to stay!

Still 18 days to go, deals tend to be better near month end when their retention target deadlines are approaching.

Have you checked for offers on "my account" on your sky box ? That's they offered me 50% off, after I cancelled via live chat.

I had the same message on my account. I downloaded the Sky service app on my phone and the 50% off deal was on the front page of the app
