So was naughty and spent in Tesco yesterday.
Had an eb@y sale today so that will be sent tomorrow morning. Is a good excuse to go to the charity shop to drop my stuff off as well, so maybe I'll do a quick sweep of my stuff tonight to see if anything else can go while I'm there.
Not much going on today (apart from work, obviously!), might be going to a bbq on Sunday so will probably have to buy some food and drink for that. Bf comes home today. He's enjoyed himself in Paris, he wants us to go for a weekend at some point. More money!0 -
Hi,
Currently in the same boat - trying to save for a house deposit. Currently I am paying £200 into the help to buy ISA. However, with the limit of £200 it won't be quick enough.... i want to save more. Can anyone help - looking for a new savings account where I can also save for a house deposit?
Thanks,
James0 -
Ended up going to coop yesterday for work lunch - actually fancied McD's but managed to talk myself down! Also bought a bag off eb@y to use for work. My bag seems really tired, and I was looking at second hand designer ones for less than £100, but to be honest I can't justify it at the moment. Saw a lovely black faux leather shopper from zara on eb@y, so got that instead for less than a tenner.
Have had a really lovely morning/early afternoon. Was meant to be up early to go to the post office (sold a bag yesterday on eb@y) but managed to sleep through my alarm until 10:30! so got up, quickly dressed and was out the door by 11am. Post office done, went and got lunch from greggs and sat in costa for an hour or so reading. Reading "Me before you", actually enjoying it much more than I expected to, and it was lovely to sit and drink, read and occasionally people-watch! Then went to Tesco and bought food for dinner tonight
Back home now, will go for a run at some point, and head over to the bf's for dinner.
Happy Saturday!
ETA I feel guilty when I buy a roll from greggs, or a coffee in costa, but today it was so nice to get out the house and just sit and spend time in there that I don't think I should....? Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the "I should be saving" that I sit and mentally punish myself for those things that I suppose are "luxuries". Sometimes need a reminder life is for living! Plus, I don't buy coffees every day like some people *coughmybfcough*!0 -

I don't know much about savings accounts, I just have one from Natwest as I have my current account with them. I think I had a high interest rate for a year as a special promotion. I would see if your current bank has any good deals on savings accounts, and put money into one of those alongside your help to buy isa. With Natwest you can have as many as you like.0 -
I had a very disconcerting experience in a supermarket car park last night, and wonder if anyone reading has experienced anything similar -
I went to the SM with my bf yesterday evening, entered through the back entrance and parked up in a spot that didn't have many cars around. Got out, was in the shop for about 20 mins or so. Walked back to my car, to a white car parked haphazardly behind me, engine running and lights on, and a girl taking a photo of my car. She started to walk away as I approached, I used my key to remotely open the car so she would know someone was coming (lights flash etc), and shouted "Excuse me!?". She came up to me and said, "Did you hit a white car over there?" and pointed to the far side of the car park. I said, truthfully, "No, and I haven't been over that side of the carpark tonight." She said, "Well you've got a dent on your car," and pointed to my driver's side. (I actually have several, and scratches, some were done by me against poles while I was getting used to it, and some were done by the previous owner. It's an old car not worth getting the bodywork fixed). I told her I knew that, I'd done it in a car park not too far from where we were, months ago (It had actually been a year ago). She said "If you say so", got into her mate's car and drove off.
I looked at the dent she had been photographing - it is clearly indented and is obviously from a bollard (when I made this particular dent I'd not been driving long, tried to pull out against a pole and didn't clear it before turning, creating the dent. My mum actually used teak oil to get the green paint off for me). Problem is I don't have photographs of the dent before yesterday's date, because I did it myself and I didn't think to log it!
Anyway, I found the whole thing very strange, she obviously didn't want to talk to me (she would've taken the photo and gone had I not been walking up), and they drove off very sharpish. It makes me wonder if they were photographing every car with a dent, trying to find someone to pin it on? I thought when I was walking up that they'd done me!!!
I phoned the SM and they reckon they don't have cctv in that car park, none "that's recorded anyway" to quote the woman verbatim on the phone. Odd as that particular car park says you're not allowed to park there longer than 3 hours or you get a fine - how do they enforce that then? They also have a lot of trouble in that car park so it would surprise me that they don't have cctv.
I guess I'm worried that she will try to claim (and win) when I haven't done anything wrong? There's not much I can do about it, but I'm a real worrywort when it comes to stuff like this that's out of my control...
I apologise for any typos, I'm still a bit shaken up over it all! Just glad my bf was with me because who knows if they would've got aggressive otherwise...0 -
Well overspent last week - £150 total. Not great. Will try better this week.
Not too much planned - will see bf on Wednesday, this weekend might go to a party but will see how I feel, as it will be expensive with taxis.
A book that I pre-ordered will be going onto my kindle, so spend there, and I will have to go to Tesco at some point to buy some work food. Although I'm a bit put off of Tesco atm after Saturday's fiasco!0 -

Bit of a dilemma - Green Day have released tour dates for next year. They never ever tour in the UK/Europe. I don't really like their new stuff, but I was massive fan of theirs when I was in my teens. Like obsessively a fan. But I know it's going to be mega expensive, as they only have one date for London (3 total in the UK). Feel like it's a lot but at the same time I've always wanted to see them....:( That's even if I could get tickets!0

Bit disappointed, that bag came yesterday but there was damage to the zip in two places. Part of the zip was missing in the middle so I would have to yank it to get the zip to close all the way across. Messaged the seller and she refunded straight away, no mention of return. Oh well, sorted without much pain!
Came into work and our server had been down since a reboot last night - so couldn't do any work this morning. Now playing catch up.
Stomach has been awful awful awful the past few days - get to 10pm and I have mega cramps and am on the toilet for 2 hours. Literally. Not sure what's going on, but it's getting in the way now.
Went to the coop for lunch again (naughty) but bf is buying the food for tonight. Will update my spend list.0 -
My petrol was low yesterday, so I filled up my tank. I didn't factor this into my spend list for this week, so it will be way out, but it needed to be done.
Will need to go to tesco today - been really lazy with buying food for lunch so having to get something every day. If I today I can get today and tomorrow sorted at least, so should be a NSD tomorrow. Also need to do a big boots order as a lot of my skincare has run out, maybe I'll do that today, if not over the weekend.0
