Stopping a supermarket from erecting scafolding on my land

Wrong! :rotfl:
A bunch of people with a whole lot more experience of neighbour disputes than you, perhaps! People who learned the hard way, maybe?
However, don't let a few harsh facts of life get in the way of a fervently held principle.
I wish you luck in your battle to defend your rights. Unfortunately, other people have rights too...0 -

I don't hate the supermarket. It doesn't consume my every thought. All I want to do is to protect my interests. We have paid lots of money to be owners of this land. That gives us rights. If we can reasonably stop others from infringing on our rights then it would be stupid not to.
My wife agrees that it would not hurt to seek legal advice over the matter.
A right bunch of pushovers on this website.
From what I've read no one is giving up at the first hurdle or are a bunch of pushovers,
What do you not understand they are going to build it whether you like it or not, you aren't going to win even if you stop them using the land which I very much doubt you will win anyway as the developers will prob just offer your neighbours a cash sum & it won't matter what you think, you obv don't like it but there isn't anything you can do so suck it up & move on with your lifeI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I am no pushover ,but as a homeowner with a family and a finite budget, i tend to choose my battles wisely
Maybe you learn this as you grow up
And I am picking my battles wisely by seeking legal advice.
Another thing to consider is how long will the scaffolding by up for? Who is liable for any injuries that could take place on my property? What happens if my property is damaged? How do I empty my refuse bins when scaffolding blocks the path.
But I shouldn't concern myself with such trivial things and should just bend over and lube up.0 -

And you know any of this how? Are you in the legal profession or do you just like taking the route of least resistance in life?0 -

What are you talking about? It is my land. The supermarket have no right of access to it.0 -

They do to maintain their building and their right is to access your land to rerender it. You however are in denial about that fact.0 -

No I'm just not blinded to what is going to happen, they have planning permission you aren't going to change that, they will give you access to empty your bins, their insurance will cover damage to your house, enjoy your time with your family & forget all this which is only going to effect your state of mind because the developers or council don't give a rats *rse & the only people that are going to suffer are you & your familyI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

It is clearly not just maintenance but construction. They are changing the building from two floor Nursing Home into a single floor supermarket. They are knocking large sections of the building down, blocking up widows, creating new windows etc.0 -
Hmm.. I suspect the OP lives under a bridge and we're on the recieving end of a wind-up. In the words of Duncan Bannatyne: AHM OOT.0
