Stopping a supermarket from erecting scafolding on my land

Well that would depend on the conditions attached. Every supermarket I have worked on has had pretty strict delivery conditions.
The last supermarket (in a residential area) I was involved with I recommended in my report, which was accepted by the appropriate planning authority that no deliveries shall be received or dispatched outside of the hours of 07:00 - 23:00. The only time I have had trouble with proposing delivery times was when the Councils highways department had reason to object and require delivery at other times due to highway restrictions.
I am currently working on a small supermarket wanting to open an extra hour per day. The local planning authority has requested a full noise assessment.0 -
Are you willing to post up the local authority and planning application number for this development?
I would be highly surprised if this development, so close to residential property was granted approval without conditions and or impact assessments being undertaken first.
Nonetheless they do get permission regardless.
A major supermarket chain has just been given permission to build on a former small industrial building which is directly on a main roundabout.
Drivers will be pulling out more or less onto the roundabout.
It will only have 11 parking spaces so where will people park I wonder.
As far as I am concerned it will be an accident waiting to happen.0 -

Of course, but if it was granted that means it met the national and local planning requirements.
Remember the options for the planning officer are
1) No objection/Grant approval
2) No objection/Grant approval but with conditions
3) Refuse application
Some times if there are representations to be made it will go to planning committee who will make the decision.
The planning officer will make their recommendation after taking advice from the statutory consultees or consultants they employ and the concerns of residents. The planning officer is free to ignore the advice of the statutory consultees and if there is no reason to object/refuse on planning grounds the recommendation and application will be approved.
All of the traffic flows will have been modelled. If you want to know why it was accepted read the approval notice and accompanying officer report. It is public information and will be freely available from the councils website0
