Halifax Switch- what if I already have an account?

Hi.
I'd like to know whether I can make the switch to Halifax in order to get their £125 incentive if I already have a reward account with them?
Thank you.

Yes, as long as you have not had the incentive before, or since January 2012.

The £125 ends on Tuesday so you will have to be quick,

    Thank you for that.
Does anyone know the criteria you need to fulfil, as in do you have to swap over direct debuts, does it have to be the account that your wages goes in to, etc?

You just need to do a switch with active credits and debits. Their latest incentive offer doesn't seem to specify any minimum of direct debits and they pay very quickly. If you also want the £5 monthly credit then you need two direct debits and pay in £750 minimum per month.

It's the other way round, you get the incentive if you haven't had one since January 2012, not before:
If you’ve already received cashback for switching to us since January 2012 we’re sorry but you won’t get it again

So does the fact that I've used the reward account sporadically (and never 'switched') and gained the odd £5 reward make a difference?
  • No it doesn't just as long you haven't received a switch payment since 2012. If you never have then switch an account to your existing Reward account and you will qualify for the payment. The £5 payment is a different incentive.

Does anyone know if this ends at close of play tomorrow or is it 12am tonight?

Have you actually read the information, let alone the T&Cs, on their website? Because it answers all your questions asked so far!

    As to your last question...
The offer applies to applications received in branch, online or by phone between 9 February 2016 and 22 March 2016. The offer is subject to change and can be withdrawn without notice at any time.
So, from that we can deduce that a) they're inclusive dates (so midnight tomorrow) because you could apply on 9th Feb for the £125...but b) they could pull it at twenty past 3 tomorrow afternoon!

    Apologies.
Here's a question that I could not find:
I have more than one HSBC account and I'd like to switch from that. However, does anyone know whether the all the HSBC accounts will get closed or just that one....

You know if people did that in the first place this forum would be very quiet.........:rotfl:
