My moto.G is nearing end of contract.
I'd like a new phone. I like compact phones. Nice camera, surfing the internet. Maybe good sound for music. Would prefer android as I got my play store stuff to transfer. Don't want to pay i-phone prices.Would like it to be robust.
What is the Sony Z3 or z5 like or Samsung A3 or J5? Or any recommendations. Thanks as I've only had a moto g as a smartphone.

In terms of 'robust', I think Sony is the most complained make about unexpectedly cracked screens.

As the OP stated they liked "compact phones", is the 3rd gen when the Moto G went from a 4.5" to a 5" screen, and therefore no longer small enough?

The Sony Z3/Z5 compact seems to be the best available smaller sized phone, but there are just so many reports of cracked screens they can hardly be considered robust. I'm personally planning on hanging onto my Moto G for as long as possible in the hope there will be better 4.5" screen options available by the time I need to change it.

Despite having reservations about screen size I recently changed my 1st gen Moto G for a 3rd gen Moto G and I wouldn't go back now I'm used to the slightly bigger screen.

Well maybe a 5" screen then. I like to put in my coat pocket so don't want the massive phones.

I don't like the camera on the moto g otherwise I'd consider the latest one.

Well I might have to consider slightly bigger screen the. I don't like camera on moto g or I would have bought the latest.
What's Samsung galaxy nero, or A3 etc like. I've not looked at phones for 2 years. Thanks

What about the moto X play. Is that a superior phone to the moto G?

The Moto G3 2015 has a much better camera than the older Motos. I'm very happy with mine.

They've got an offer on moto g latest one on Motorola site. Plus you can customise look.

So for about £125 you can get the phone. Its robust and screen is quite tough.

I do like the look of moto play but the screen is massive.
