If TM had lost 35% of her MP's she would be toast and gone. NS? She is a monumental failed leader of the SNP. She should go now.0

I suspect there will be no picture opportunity this time?0

Gordon was never a SNP stonghold though. A big name was parachuted in for the 2015 election when the existing long standing LibDem candidate decided not to run. On the other hand the SNP stronghold Moray was a spectacular result.
There's no denying that the SNP took a hit last night but as others have said, they are still the majority party in Scotland.
This election was interesting, the three main parties making the focus on IndyRef2, and it is having a clear focus that stands parties so well.
What would happen if the SNP took IndyRef2 off the table, how would that impact the other parties election campaign?
Gordon itself found two other huge factors,
1) The Conservatives spent 5 times the amount than the SNP. Did this play a part? is it sustainable in future campaigns now the big scalp has been taken.
2) Both the Lib dems and labour fielded paper candidates with no campaigning (that I saw). Would this traditional Lib-Dem area be willing to stand aside next time if there is no message or common agreement to unite the other parties? Will labour step aside next time
as they grow their confidence.
Remember next election, will not be about taking the SNP big scalps down but having to campaign against their traditional opposite parties.:wall:

Time to move the thread to the MoneySaversArms. Debating what went wrong in the SNP's campaign has no relevance to this forum.0 -

Wise up they did not take a hit, they were crushed, if TM and the Tories had lost 35% of their MP'S TM would rightly be gone! NS is still FM ..why?0
