You seem to think its all in Sturgeons control, its not.

NS has clearly stated, time and again that she wants the referendum to allow the people of Scotland to decide post Brexit negotiations.

When they occur, she proposes that the referendum takes place.

    Exactly.

Sturgeon is not a priority, and she doesn't have much value to add.

NS can have as many post Brexit negotiations she likes, I dont care.

I don;t understand why then you were challanging Shakey for an exact date (within a few months) if you knew it was not in NS's control

Weren't you saying Sept 2018 a few months back?

Now you sound less sure, more woolly.

Come on :) - I don't expect an exact date ... within a couple of months.

But...if you insist on your descriptions I predict it will be "later rather than sooner" :D

I'm sorry that you feel that way but I'm not going to change my posting style under the threat that someone might complain to MSE. If I see evasiveness or hypocrisy, I'll show it up for what it is and whoever the poster is.
That's fine by me and I've never had to resort to reporting anyone here in all my time posting. I'm a big girl and can take care of myself. However, I was calling you out and 'showing it up' for what it was. Just in case you weren't aware that you were coming across as a bit creepy and frankly intimidating to share an open platform with.
As it happens, I respect your position as a committed Nat whether I agree with you or not but I'd respect you more if you were more willing to engage with other posters who ask you questions.

I asked you twice the other day whether you agreed that Sturgoen lied about the letter from Angela Leadsom to the Scottish Fishermen Federation but you didn't answer. Why not? And please don't tell me again that you didn't see my post because I'm quite sure you did.
I don't click on Telegraph links in general. I don't rate a word that comes out of that paper regarding Scotland/The SNP or Sturgeon as balanced or even vaguely true most of the time. Most of the their content now is behind a premium content paywall anyway and all the ads freeze up my laptop browser ( same with some other newspapers ). I post here exclusively using my laptop.

So no I didn't see the full story you mentioned therefore am unable to answer your question... unless you find me a link that doesn't make my Firefox browser and ancient laptop want to die screaming trying to open it. Or you're willing to outline the full premise behind the story so I can look it up elsewhere.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Kab I think is trying to convince themselves that Scotland won't matter during the Brexit negotiations and that May will take care of it all for us truly getting the best deal for Scotland with that huge majority she's going to get in a few weeks. In other words we can be dismissed as irrelevant.

However, while posters here and elsewhere are convincing themselves that polls/whatever May/Davidson say about a second referendum/Scot's don't want it/this GE a defacto referendum etc are all by far the most important things to concern themselves with. They've forgotten that Scottish democracy has already taken place on this question. And it will come back into play immediately after this GE is over.

    I asked for a prediction, that's all.

The only person who has been definitive on things like calling the ref and using the Euro has been Hamish !
  • I'm not getting into a semantics flaming spiral with you.
It was said by the PM, its still remains a possibility and many reports and EU leaders believe that it will take longer.
Equally there are many who believe it will not - indeed that is the current accepted consensus of opinion.
More so given continued EU belligerence.

    ...

Oh, it's more a case of May is up against it, and she knows it.

The GE move is a political one to outflank her opponents, both Labour and SNP.

And yes, in the grand scheme of things you are irrelevant.

It's the same on the other side. Barnier was in Ireland recently to make sure they knew there could be pain ahead, but it was worth it in the sake of EU unity.

If Scotland were already independent you can be sure Barnier would have had you pencilled in for a visit.
  • If I'm trolling, I'm only trolling the same lame argument that has been put forward many times ;)

Are you guys trolling the same scaremongering point again?
You are the one ignoring what has (even recently and in these threads) been discussed.
    Also:
a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion,[3] often for the troll's amusement.
Now let's compare to your posts:
Starting arguments or upsetting people: tick.
    Extraneous: tick.
Off-topic: tick. (Nothing in the quoted post re: what was discussed.)
... or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion: tick.

Try reading around what is being discussed before posting and you might not be accused of trolling.
The subject of jobs threatened has been very widely discussed, even in this very thread.
I will not hold your hand to find them, they are there to see.

So please (yet again) stop trolling.

    Really?
Would that be because you too failed in discussion?
    ;)

I am another waiting to be proven wrong regarding the assertion of jobs at risk, Brexit vs indy.
    To remind you again:
When the same group suggest 500,000 are at risk due to independence it appears that your version of "proof" is at best selective.
As suggested, either both are wrong or both are right.
    Which is it?
    Still waiting.

If that last sentence is true then do you agree that the proposed timing of the referendum in the Oct 2018 to March 2019 timeframe is too early since the results of the Brexit negotiations will not be known at that time?
