Friday 18th March - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Good morning all

We made it to Friday :j Hope today is a better day for everyone :grouphug:
MTC - sorry to read things are so tough at home. It's SO stressful having really young children - have you been to see your doctor?
I've been awake since just before 6 - filling my time diary in
But fingers crossed I should get some free time today anyway... I am shattered this week.
:cheesy: Check banking and PAD
:cheesy: NSD apart from £1 non uniform day
:cheesy: Use my free time at work wisely
:cheesy: Keep my time diary
:cheesy: Go and see dd's last ever class assembly
:cheesy: Get dd to gymnastics
:cheesy: Do not stress
:cheesy: Do a tiny bit of housework (we are getting desperate)
:cheesy: Get kids and dh to do their share
:cheesy: Find some time for myself
That will do for the moment. Have a good day all

Morning cat thanks for starting us off :hello: and to all that follow too. Friday :j:j
Foxglove thanks for the note on bread pudding and the things you've used. I made another yesterday and added some chopped dried apricots as I didn't have enough sultanas. DH commented that they went out of date last year and should I have used them
I said they were fine - he'd eaten older things
I did fail to mention I'd put dates and mixed spice in it out of 'use up box' best before 2010 and 2005 respectively :rotfl: :rotfl:
My day will mainly look like:
Working, but meeting somewhere different
work will pay mileage and expenses :T
Check banking, pad, surveys and FPL update master sheet
Meals from stores, get something out of freezer in a minutes
Put item in car to be returned for a refund
Put packaging in car to drop to a friend whose moving
Package product up to new customer and get DH to drop off (only round corner, so he can walk)
Text other customer to say order is in and I'll bring it Monday.
Message all my customers as I'm doing an online launch on Sunday night
Quick fly ladyladyof bathroom - we have flooring after 10 months of nothing :T it's lush
even more incentive to keep it lovely.
Think that's about all, check back later0 -
Morning all
One paid stuff today. Tired. Will try and get out on my bike this afternoon though, need to spend some time with DS1 so will see if he wants to come along.
Washing is out but its a bit dreary outside this morning. No heating on though, its not too cold. My mealplan has gone a bit awol so I need to plan what we are having for tea.
Have just ordered my brother a gift card for his birthday - he lives at the other end of the country. He buys me a gift card and posts it then I do the same for him which is silly really but I know he likes it that way!
Right, quick shower, going to put my hair up this morning because I cant be bothered to wash it but that saves on electricity and time blow drying it!0 -

Morning
Make the Change I just read your post from last night and felt for you so much. Is something making your partner more ratty than usual? I take it it's not the norm for him to be like that when the children cry?
You must try and look after yourself too. Eating is important or you will have low blood sugar and feel terrible.
You are doing a very important job looking after those 3 little ones. If you haven't already do try and get onto your doctors for an appointment about how you are feeling.
Love to all

Morning :hello:
MTC I read your late post from last night. Sorry you're having a tough time with the OH. Big hugs for you I hope you have a better day today. I am in similar boat myself but I won't bore you with it. Stay safe and keep smiling.
Lots of hugs to others who need it too.
My little list is:
A full day at work
Packed lunch to take with me :T
Usual banking and savings checked.
Still procrastinating about how best to budget in my forthcoming single life:T
Not a NSD as such. I am going to buy some vitamin tablets to help me through my stressful current patch. I eat healthily and drink a minimum 2 litres of water per day but feel I need to add a little vitamin boost for good measure :j (will use the change in my purse or my Advantage card which has £17 on:))
That is it for today. I hope everyone has a better day than yesterday. Keep smiling and hugs all round :group hug:
Pace
Money scares me.:eek:
Honesty update will arrive shortly......:o0 -

Morning all

Make_the_change sorry things are so tough right now
Please, please see your GP if you haven't already. Having had 3 small children myself at one point, I remember well how stressful it was. Do take care of yourself.
Really cold here this morning, hard frost first thing and now it has got foggy as well - and I have unashamedly put the heating on :eek:
My list for today:
So far I have:
Cheapie porridge breakfast
Washed the kitchen floor
Put on a load of washing
Still to do:
Usual dog walks
Check banks
Clean rest of house, must do this today
Gardening if it warms up
Take some items to sales unit
Any surveys, check FPL
HM meals from stores
Hmm boring list today - will check back later and update!0 -
Morning all!
Hugs MTC and anyone else who needs them.
Circuits was cancelled last night so I ended up reorganising my two freezers (one tall one and just a little one above the fridge). So I now know what we actually have and its all organised so I can see things easily. Just need to work out what is in the tubs of hm frozen meals! :rotfl:
Today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Do washing up
* Take lunch to work inc LO rolls
* Arranged for dad to come and wait for delivery of new bathroom sink unit to save me or OH taking time off work. He's just texted to say its been delivered already and he fixed a small leak on the radiator whilst he was there!
* Charge phone in work
* Check FPL and Luckyphone
* Earn more on OnePoll
* Dinner from stores
* Empty change into piggy
* Sort out change my parents gave me so can take some more to the bank tomorrow
* Sort out laundry
Can't think of anything else at the moment! Hope you all have a good day.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
