I'm genuinely counting the hours till I get home and watch last night's Red Dwarf :D

I was truly obsessed when I was a teenager (in the fanclub, signed photos from all the cast, a huge number of t shirts and other stuff) I've met Chris Barrie twice - once I was about 15 and very over-excited, the last time I was 35 and still over-excited :rotfl:.
  • OK, so this thread has generated a slight disagreement in this household (now resolved).

me - OMG Red Dwarf! You did record it, didn't you? Remember I looked it up and told you it started on 22nd?

    him - no.........

etc. Anyway, as a result I can now tell you all that the repeat it 11.30 tonight :D No spoilers please! (Or it is on catchup but I can't remember the name of the catchup, something to do with Play)

As to work clothes.... A few years ago I got a casual job over Christmas with Parker Pens. They required you to wear black and white, so I bought some black trousers - something I hadn't bought before. I bought a very cheap pair in Primark and they have been SOOOOOO useful ever since! Black trousers with a black cardigan and any colour t shirt looks fairly formal and really isn't, and with a white top will see you through almost anything. I don't use them as a regular work thing, but resort to them sometimes when I get stuck in the winter. If I had to dress more formally for work, this would definitely be my 'go to' basic!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

Code - wear the cape for your new job :D

I don't know whether you prefer trousers, skirts or dresses for work but I pretty much always wear a dress as it saves the "does this go with that" choosing of a morning.

Something like this http://www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/dresses-5699972/skater-dresses-4888369/navy-lace-collar-dress-5808575?bi=20&ps=20 is pretty much what I wear for work all the time.

When I used to wear trousers for work I used to find Dorothy Perkins were pretty good for them too and they have a reasonable tall range (I was forever finding trousers I liked and then realising that I'd need stilts to be able to wear them)

Also, Next are very good for work clothes and their half-price sale starts tomorrow so you might be able to pick up some bargains.

Georgie - I like blue or sea-green sheds but it would probably depend on what else you've got in your garden as to whether that would work.

I was thinking that sort of colour Iz, as that is what the gate is....can't help but want to paint it pink for some reason though! :rotfl:

Workwise, with only ever having worked in either retail (uniform) or repairing bikes (cargo pants, polo shirts or whatever you didn't mind getting dirty), I'm not really best placed to give advice, but when I did work experience in offices, I always wore a trouser suit and different coloured blouses underneath.

Seems like I haven't missed too much of Red Dwarf at all then, will be catching up on Saturday.

That's a cooler fan club to be in than the one I was in tea....I was in the Paul Young fan club....no, I don't know why either lol!

A pink shed would certainly be different. You could always try it an paint over it if you don't like it.

I can't believe that I'm going to admit to this but I think the fan club I belonged to is actually worse than either of those - Shakin' Stevens!!
  • Jason Donovan for me. I am so cool :rotfl:

Paint it pink Georgie. I love when people paint things in different colours. I'd love a pink shed but Mr CP is quite conventional and he said no so it's just boring brown.

I wasn't sure about watching Red Dwarf this time. I love Red Dwarf but those last episodes they did were horrendous. I don't want to spoil my enjoyment of the old stuff.

I like DP stuff but they've stopped selling the tall range in store here. I have managed to get some tall trousers but it was following a fruitless wander around two shopping centres and not one shop had a single pair of long length trousers. I managed to find some in M&S eventually. Iz, that dress is lovely but would be way too small for me. I have a couple of dresses, a couple of trousers a couple of skirts and some shirts but not many tops. It'll have to do me until I have more money.

I need to go into old work today to return a couple of bits I forgot on my last day. It's also supposed to be leaving drinks for me but I don't think anyone is going to come.

I saw Jason Donovan earlier this year and he was awesome!

I was also in the My Little Pony fan club... I truly have never been one of the cool kids :D
  • My friends and I used to take turns being Charlene at Charlene and Scott's wedding. So whoever was Charlene had a pillowcase on their head and walked down the aisle (street) to the lamppost that was Scott. One person was the minister and the other had to sing the song. :rotfl:

  • I loved Jason Donovan! :happyhear My Little Pony too! We even created our own Care Bear club! :rotfl:

D is fairly easy going regarding decorating (it's one of the only things he's easy going about mind you), and usually just goes along with my ideas, he trusts me to have "the vision" to see the end result! Like the loft in raspberry pink and the living room in 1960's orange and brown print (it looks much nicer than it sounds!), so he'd probably go along with a pink shed....ha! :D
