One way to get a flat stomach, perhaps.
My weekend is getting eaten up with people. A couple to out the finishing touches to some redecoration that has been dragging out, half the neighbours who want to see what has been happening, MIL etc who want to see it too, my family who are having a BBQ.
I don't mind any of them, I would prefer it to be over the next 6 months rather than today!
I need wind down time.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Funnily enough, years and years ago, there was a craze for a tummy-toner that looked a bit like a rolling pin! I even had one for a (short) time!
What was it called?
On your hands and knees, you held it and rolled it forwards and backward on the floor, feeling your tummy muscles tense as you did so.
Now, what was it called? ......................
..............edit......it was something like this, but I'm sure it looked more like a rolling pin than this does.

I know what you mean, pyxis, although I can't recall the name either.
Lovely, I can hear DH sorting through the recycling.
I have a pile of stuff for burning later. Once that is done it will spur me on.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

That was my plan for this afternoon too but have lost my phone so can't take any pictures. Not impressed!

Get a big kilner jar, pour in 75cl vodka, a kilo of sugar and then fill to the top with blackberries. You can put them in frozen. Store the jar out of direct sunlight, and as long as it doesn't leak, tip the jar over each day.
It's ready once all the sugar has dissolved, usually after about a month or so.
Then drain it and bottle it.
The blackberries are then good blended with ice for a booze slushie!
It makes a lovely syrupy vodka.
Works with damsons, raspberries, blackcurrants etc too0 -
So, cheap day out 2 for 1 garden entry. Should be £4.50 each.
Forget to take the usual flask. Arrive to find it's an event day, so not only does the discount not apply, the tickets are more than usual. Console selves with afternoon tea and scone. Then decide that as we've made the effort we may as well pay the extra to tour the house as well. Total cost of day £18 each.
Is there an MSE badge of disgrace?
Very nice day out though all the same, so I'm thinking sod it, you have to treat yourself once in a while. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
