Not the C word!!! I hate Christmas nowadays.
Any mention of it should be banned until Dec 1st! I saw the big tubs of a Quality Street on offer at the front of Tesco's yesterday....made me think of it as they usually only sell them then. As soon as the kids go back to school, the C stuff will be out, they don't even wait until Halloween is over now. (Sorry, don't mean that to sound as ranty as it came out!
)
Glad you're having fun though WaS.
A joke for you tea - "What did the green grape say to the purple grape?" "Breathe you idiot breathe!" :rotfl: It's one of the only jokes I know!0 -
Just had an audit report back from my boss and there are so many comments on it
Which is very annoying/frustrating as all the previous ones have been pretty much ok, but this one he seems to have ripped apart. Just trying to get the motivation to make the changes required but the temptation to email it back to him with "do it all yourself then you @rse" is very strong!

It would be quite a good idea to penguin Christmas until Dec 1st. I love it, love it, love it so penguining it would be sensitive but also make it more exciting for me! (sorry to be selfish):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

There's no need to apologise WW, you can request a penguin for whatever reason you like. I'll do my best to remember, seeing as I'm one of those really annoying people who's quite happy to start planning any time after June 25th
WaS - I love WaSp's suggestion for an anniversary present. When it was my mum and dad's 40th, which is ruby, he suggested taking her out for a curry as her gift.
Tea - take a deep breath and resist the temptation to tell him that he's a nitpicking ar5e
Georgie - I think we have similar taste in jokes. One of my favourites is:
"Why are pirates called pirates?"
"Because they aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgh"
Sorry, I'll get my coat... :rotfl:0 -

I am resisting.... for now :rotfl:. Have had a good old whinge to a lovely colleague who fully agrees that he's a nitpicking ar5e so we both felt better for that!
Am off tomorrow and was supposed to be going out with my parents and sister but have just heard that my sister isn't even going now. Which is also annoying as she was moaning about me not being able to get time off during the holidays (she's a teacher and my parents are retired). A lot of the reason I couldn't get any time to fit in with her (apart from mad busy at work) is that she's on holiday for loads of the time. We found this one day we were all free and now she's not even coming. Oh well - I will be a 37yr old only child for the day and get spoilt.

Hello all!
Still have some pain but no more co-codamol or ibuprofen taken since last update. Did take some paracetamol last night though.
I've been a bit of a dolt. E came over last night as she usually does on a Weds, and I was determined to see her cos I didn't this weekend... and there I am with my super-comfy new pillow and her side doesn't have one... only the older ones
Felt bad cos I didn't think when I was buying this stuff. She didn't complain or anything but the moment she left I went and ordered another one so she can have one too. Hopefully will be here by Saturday. Guess I'm still not quite used to the fact that two nights per week (normally) it's not my bed, it's our bed. At least she said she liked the mattress topper!
Anyhoo not much else to report on my end. I've started a new game on Dragon Age: Inquisition so that's how I was "resting" yesterday - was able to wear headphones without my ear getting any more painful so yay! Watched another episode of Deadwood with E, and then a couple of episodes of 3rd Rock From the Sun and then sleep. It's only been a couple of nights, I know, but I am digging this mattress topper. My back and neck are feeling much less stiff again than normal. She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0 -
Tea - I can see how that would annoy you. It's bad enough when people try to guilt trip you about not seeing you often enough when it's down to you being busy, when it's because they're never around it's incredibly irritating. I've got a couple of friends like that and they drive me mad.
Enjoy your day being spoilt by your parents though, you deserve/need it at the moment.0 -

I think as you say Pyxis, we do compliment each other because although our interests are very similar (we are both nerds!), our needs tend to be opposite so we can support each other and be strong for each other in different areas. Together we make up a whole and rounded person. We also trust each other totally and despite my occasional BDP panics really we are in no doubt that we will be together until one of us dies, neither of us ever really questions that. Really we are still best friends as we always were. We were saying we might choose a day this month and actually celebrate it even if only we get a takeaway. After all 25 years is no mean feat!
I do hope this doesn't come over as rubbing salt in the wound for people with relationship problems right now, it's the last thing I want and I would never want to do that. It hasn't been all hearts and flowers by any stretch, WaSp has had to cope with me being very unwell for 10 years and I have had to cope with BIL and the annoying and sometimes legal problems with that but really, I think it was our friendship that got us through. Before anything else, we have always been such good and trusting friends and I really hope everyone here has that or finds it. I would say before anything be the best friend you can be to your partner, things tend to fall into place as long as you share that. Also look on it this way, if someone like me can find a partner for life everyone else certainly can! :rotfl:
Absolutely agree with this post.
My husband and I got married after a whirlwind romance, all the moons and Junes and Ferris wheels' stuff. We have been married 45 years in October and I agree absolutely, that even though a couple might love each other, quite often it will be the enduring best-friendship that gets you through the rough times.
Well said WaS and Happy Anniversary to you both xx(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Afternoon my lovelies,
Yes I have been moping the last few days. But have got up and showered and dressed for the first time in a couple of days.
Put my self back on a dating website. I created two profiles one fake with out a photo and one real with a photo. The fake one I tweaked slightly with name, age and location. I put very little info in the fake one.
Guess which one has had the most messages? Yes the fake one with no photo in 3 days I have had over 60 messages  Must have been the way and what I wrote :rotfl:
Very tired but not sure why.
My lodger is pillock. I text him to say he had a letter from the council. he asked me to open it. Its a summons to court for unpaid council tax!!! He asked me why? and then said He said he will sort it. I told him he better, I don't want any more bailiffs around and he needs to get a grip and get a second job etc and stop wasting money. I even told him to stop traveling half way round the country meeting woman as he can't afford the fuel!!!
Can you tell I am grumpy LOL!!!!!
Think its nap time lol!!!
Hugs and squishes and handshakes all round
Yours
Calley XHope for everything and expect nothing!!!
