  • Aw, Solar I am sorry that it was a low day. We were all thinking of you so I am glad that helped a little! I am now going to have a glass of water in your honour, I haven't forgotten!

aww thanks guys.. Waves.. I def think penguinning it would help .. I don't often post about politics other than the benefit cuts, but I saw the posts of the shootings and I responded. It's a tricky one.
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)
  • It is a tricky one Faerie, but I agree that if we penguin and are respectful of others beliefs and sensitive to others feelings that we can do it. We know where the boundaries are so we should be fine.

How are your tonsils, Pyxis? I suspect you are feeling a bit emotional at the moment not only because of lovely poems (and they ARE lovely!), but because your system is a bit battered - are you getting any medical care? Do look after yourself xxxxxx

Well before I retire to my room for the evening to watch TV for a bit, maybe this little tale will bring a smile or a giggle.

New season of Orange is the New Black begins on Netflix this week so I put the show in my watchlist ready.

My mum has her own profile on Netflix which I set up and added a bunch of stuff to her watchlist that I know she'll like or think she'll like. She finished up House last night, I believe.

It would seem that tonight she's not been paying attention, she's gone into my profile and she's started watching OITNB. It would also appear that for whatever reason Netflix didn't play from the first episode.

More questions have now been thrown my way... :o I hope she doesn't carry on watching that. :rotfl:

I've got her watching Lie to Me now. I should be safe with that one.
She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?

    Thank you, JM.

They are slowly improving. I've been gargling with propolis. Didn't go to the GP as I suspected it might be viral, and thought I'd just keep on eye on them......... Easy to do with a mirror and a torch! :D

Am totally used to tonsil-watching! Used to get loads of these episodes, but not had one for over twenty years!

No point in taking antibiotics for a viral infection, and they'd only kill my good gut bacteria that I've been nurturing for a few months now with expensive probiotics! :D (With some success, I might add!)

Am feeling a bit listless, so am resting a lot. No change there, then!

Lambyr, I don't know anything about OITNB. Is it related to "Oranges are not the only fruit?" I remember watching that on the TV, donkey's years ago!
    Will go a -googling!

No, not related to Oranges are not the only fruit! Not at all! :rotfl:

Before I went on holiday I put my tablet, my mobile and some bank cards somewhere safe. Somewhere very safe. Somewhere so safe I am now unable to find them again. Last time I did this it took me 12 months to retrieve my spare house keys. I never learn.

I don't suppose your phone is switched on, is it? Probably not, and even if it were, the battery would need charging.

    Right. Let's think.

Retrace your steps to when you were doing that.

Do you have a loft? Might they be up there?

    Kitchen cupboard, back of?

    Inside a piano? :D

    Up a chimney?

    Under a floorboard?

    Behind bath panel?

In a waterproof bag in the loo cistern?

    In Gitdog's bed?
(No, he'd have found them by now!)

Under your mattress? (Not really a safe place!)

Bottom of a chest of drawers under the bottom drawer?

Buried in a packet of cornflakes?

    In a flowerpot?

    In a large clock?

    Behind books on a shelf?

In a big box file of boring papers?

    Behind a pelmet?

By the way, Staples sell quite good home safes! :D

The loft was last time. Carefully tucked away in the pocket of a bag I'd forgotten I'd got. I found the keys when looking for my case for the next holiday. Then promptly had to hide them again. :rotfl:

Off to work now, will check some of your suggestions later. Memory like a sieve retracing steps not an option as I can only recall a last minute flinging of things into a case.

I'm very good at putting things in far too safe a space too elsien. Your story also reminded me about the time (probably 30 years ago) when my sister and I were sorting through all of my nan's handbags. My sister found 20p, and our nan told us we could keep any money we found. I then found a tenner (which in the 80s, to a small child was a HUGE sum of money!) My sister still thinks it's unfair :D Thank you for nudging that lovely memory to the front of my mind, it's really put a smile on my face..... which I need today as the "absolutely can't manage without it" database has stopped working again, and my uterus seems intent on world domination.
