Hmmm, it's a bit different if she adopted them too. Some cats just have lots of different homes. In my case Alex had a home and as his owner said I supplied kitty day care while she was at work but you might find your little visitor wants to stay for longer. She was squeaking outside my front door and they took her home.
I took them to the pdsa with her where we discovers she was 12 weeksish and pregnant.
Hard work talking the lady into having her done as it included the loss of kittens.
She was really poorly
Now she's getting out and sitting on my bench till we let her in lol.0 -
So she chose you first, really interesting! If they keep her in for a while it might work but it depends how determined she is. You might find she is back a week later!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I can't say an animal has ever chosen me. That said, DA dog was in a kennel with another dog who already had a home. We had a hold on him, as we'd been up to the shelter a million times and they told us he was coming. We went up to meet him, only he was off having his dinner so we were saying hello to the other dog, when DA dog came belting through the door and shoved the other dog out of the way so we'd pay attention to him. I like to pretend he picked us, but really he's just a diva.
I'd love another dog or a cat but Mr CP isn't keen so the only way I could see him agreeing is if a homeless animal chose us. But as DA dog is such a diva, he loves all the attention.

Her and tom have come to an understanding, she is on a blanket in the hall and tom is in his bed.
Just spoke to them, think their getting hacked off with her as she's refusing to stay in.
She's not as affectionate there apparently we are going to figure out what to do some point this week.
From my point of view I need tomcat to be happy with whatever happens so it may be she needs to be further away.0 -
Aw, how adorable, code! I think he chose you!
I never had any cats adopt me until I had a cat, then they somehow seemed to appear. I bought my maine coons but one cat was a rescue, one was a 4 week old totally feral kitten who's mother had died and the other 3 were strays who just turned up, had no identification (and I did try to find their owners) and stayed with us. Then there was Alex who had his own home but liked company when his owner was working. Several had medical problems too, to complicate things even further. I lived at the vets. Monkey cat totally chose us....either that or he totally conned us! :rotfl:
I went to the RSPCA place all set to get another ginger tom (like our previous cat), and lo and behold, there was one who looked nigh on identical to him, which at the time I thought was a sign, but it turned it not to be a good thing.
While I was waiting for D to arrive from work, I wandered round to look at the other cats, and wasn't really drawn towards monkey cats cage at first as he looked a right grumpy old man (he was only two!) but to fill in time, I decided to pop in and see him as he was a beautiful looking cat.
Straight away, he jumped into my arms and lay there looking up at me and purring his little heart out! He stayed like that for about 5-10 minutes until D arrived. By this time I'd feel in love with him and it didn't take long for D to do the same. As we'd originally came for the other cat, we felt bad about leaving monkey cat behind, so decided to take them both.
As soon as we got home though we realised it was a mistake as the ginger cat reminded us too much of the cat we'd just lost, and it was too upsetting. We phoned D's Mam to see if she would take him but she wouldn't, so we had to take him back.So after going for a laid back ginger tom, we ended up with a grumpy smoky Persian with attitude!
The first night though, he pounced on any dangling limb, attacked D's feet and generally acted like a mad man! I remember lying in bed that night cuddling up to D and talking about "what the hell have we taken on?!" as he was (still is, although he's mellowing with age!) the complete polar opposite of our old cat.
So yeah, the sweet !!!!! cat act at the shelter totally conned us lol! We're so glad he did though, as we wouldn't be without him. :happyhear:0 -
I have been brave today and let Gitdog off in an enclosed field when there were no other dogs around - well, not that brave, I kept the long lead trailing to make him easier to grab.
Very happy Gitdog running round like a mad thing doing his Larry the lamb impression. I had two brilliant recalls where he nearly took my legs out from under me, then normal Gitdog service was resumed where he went back to pleasing himself. :rotfl:All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Aw Georgie, he was determined that you would take him home! One of mine used to become frantic if I cried. She would pace all over me, cry and touch my tears with her paw. It really upset her so I used to cry in the bathroom so I didn't upset the cat! They all have such individual personalities, my 6 were all very different but equally loved.
Hahahaha! He showed he could do it, elsien!
