Net flights Yes or No

  • I have had no issues whatsoever with many bookings with Travel Republic.

I always plan and book my own travel and usually I reserve my hotels directly with them (the hotels), however, I always get great rates with Hilton Hotels when booking through TR.

I forfeit my points earning with Hilton as the difference in price outweighs what I get being a member with Hhonors...and despite booking through a third party, my status with the scheme is usually acknowledged in respect of upgrades and lounge access.

I have also used Net Flights on a few occasions in the past for car hire, hotels and flights with no issues at all.

Lot's of people have no problems with TR, but equally lot's do. They get caught out when the prices on the website have changed by the time TR get around to doing the actual booking with their supplier, often getting stuck with a flight and no accommodation, or vice versa. They're not great at Customer Service either, because that's the area that type of OTA cuts back in.

Netflights on the other hand are good. They're good at correcting mistakes, making amendments etc, and the customer service is perfectly ok.

As the OP mentioned package I presumed that is what he wanted. He won't get a package holiday from Travel Republic.

Though as I mentioned above, Netflights and Travel Republic now have the same owner, so it will be interesting to see if there is any convergence in business model in future.

In the 4 years Dnata have owned Travel Republic, and the 2 years they've owned Gold Medal there has been no changes to either. They are both successful, and appeal to different markets. Why converge them? It would denegrate the Gold Medal/Netflights brand.
