Net flights Yes or No

Net flights have a package cheaper than other online companies, anyone have any experience with them?

I've never booked with them, but they are a direct selling arm of the Gold Medal Travel Group. Gold Medal was owned by Thomas Cook for a while, now owned by Dnata, a Dubai government-owned travel group (which also owns Travel Republic in the UK, among other things).

What's the percentage saving compared with the next cheapest?
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

Net Flights has always been great for me and many others seem to agree
  • Netflights are one of the better ones out there. If I was to book flights through an OTA, Netfights would be my choice. I have worked with several people that have either worked for Netflights, or gone to work for them, so know the calibre of staff they used to employ. I can't say if it's any different since TC sold them, but I can't recollect an influx of complaints in any of the various forums.

About £40.00, next cheapest is travel republic

There are cheaper ones than Net Flights, loveholidays.com sunshine.co.uk lastminute.com, but when I Googled them, reviews are not very good.

This will be for a holiday to the Canaries during in July

I'd avoid Travel Republic. Their prices aren't live and you don't actually book anything on their website, just make an offer to purchase.

Good call avoiding the others mentioned as well.

Have you looked at booking everything yourself direct?

It's something I'm looking at, Expedia, Net Flights, and others claim it's cheaper to book a package.

It depends. Sometimes using a middleman is cheaper, but then you always have that middleman in between you and your booking. Personally I'd rather book flights direct with the airline because it makes any problems easier to deal with. To me it's worth paying more to have control of my booking, unless the price is ridiculously cheaper. The last package I booked was about 5 years ago, and that was to Cuba. It was going to be over £2000 more to book direct so it was a no brainer.

I booked a flight with Netflights a while back and it was fine. Well, I actually went into a Thomas Cook branch to book, and THEY booked it on the phone with Netflights.

I have had no issues whatsoever with many bookings with Travel Republic.

I always plan and book my own travel and usually I reserve my hotels directly with them (the hotels), however, I always get great rates with Hilton Hotels when booking through TR.

I forfeit my points earning with Hilton as the difference in price outweighs what I get being a member with Hhonors...and despite booking through a third party, my status with the scheme is usually acknowledged in respect of upgrades and lounge access.

I have also used Net Flights on a few occasions in the past for car hire, hotels and flights with no issues at all.
