"When you go all out with a creative comp entry and the company hosting the competition never even announce a winner! "

Sorry - Serena03 - I don't know how to include a previous post in an orange box in my response!!

....Or when you spend ages on a creative comp, fulfilling the brief exactly and yet the person who wins hasn't conformed to the rules yet still gets the prize!

    I hate that

I won a theatre package prize in London for 4 people from Magic. So the whole family travelled to the capital on a freezing cold day and when we arrived at the hotel reception to check in they had no record whatsoever of our booking. I handed over the emails which I had printed out but they could not find it still and as well as being embarrassed I had a growing sense of horror that maybe I had been spammed and had not won such a wonderful prize after all.

In the end it turned out that we had been booked into a different hotel which was still part of the same chain (although I had requested the one we were standing in and it had been confirmed) and it was on the other side of London. The hotel I requested was fully booked.

So we had to walk back down the road and take a long journey by tube to the other hotel. By the time we got there we were late for dinner which made us late for the theatre. Although stressful it was still a stunning prize and the other hotel was better than the first overlooking London Bridge.

My mother does this :(:o:o with family, friends even the damn postman/delivery guys! I always hope prizes arrive when she's not in or she doesn't ask where something has come from. Down side to being part of"generation stuck at home", you're mum KNOWS everything :(

Haha my mum's the opposite, she tells her friends/cousins all about what she's been up to (she's sports mad and she's been lucky enough to win tickets to quite a few events, some even with expensive hospitality and/or overnight hotel stay), but when I ask "did you tell them you won a competition?", most of the time she just says "oh no, it didn't come up/I forgot to mention it". Given her tiny income (and mine - I'm a student) we could never afford any of the events we go to (I've won some theatre tickets too), so I'm beginning to think her friends/cousins will wonder if we've secretly won the lottery or are up to some dodgy criminal activity! :D
