would appreciate guidance as to what to put in the appeal.
You don't need it. Already told you which appeal to use.

Please don't copy the template appeal from the NEWBIES thread here and ask 'is it this one?'. PLEASE.
At POPLA stage people do win, look:

But the detailed appeal is for later.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you paid online then distance contract regulations apply. If they did not provide the required information stipulated for distance contracts, then as per 13.1 of the act, the contract is not bindingDedicated to driving up standards in parking0

I would have thought so, is that good or bad.
So ive read through the newbie post again, so im guessing i wait to see if they come back in a few days on me saying can it be cancelled. I then call somehow South eastern trains (not sure where to start with that one)
Then I raise an appeal with Indigo using some example challenges
Then i ask for POPLA code and go down that route.0 -
I would not bother with South East trains. Complaints to landowners are best to retail parks or hotels, not TOCs. So forget that bit.
Yes, if you appealed to the address shown on the PCN (BTW, private parking firms don't have a 'customer services' team, there is no such thing as they don't have consumer 'customers'). As long as you appealed to the scumbags you wait for the rejection letter with POPLA code, which can take a month.so im guessing i wait to see if they come back in a few days on me saying can it be cancelled. Then I raise an appeal with Indigo using some example challenges
Now that's confusing. I thought you had already appealed to Indigo? If so then it will be POPLA next.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help.
I haven't appealed yet, at the time I thought it was their mistake as I had bought what I thought was a valid ticket. So I just sent customer services at indigo a mail with my ticket and a photo of the pcn. And I said there has obviously been a mistake can it be resolved.
It was only when I got home I realised I'd got the ticket as I bought an off peak ticket at 60p less than a peak, and that started from 14:30 not 8am.
I've just received a strange reply from them, it was a pdf attachment of a word document saying "as a gesture of goodwill they are cancelling the charge after reviewing the information" However it was address to a lady called charlotte not me, and the regisrration was a for a different car. Hmm mm
I sent a mail back to say what's going on and is it cancelled or not. Tomorrow is 14 days, should I ping over an appeal anyway? This makes me think it's a tactic to make me miss the appeal bit and popla. Any thoughts or advice?

you have 28 days to appeal, so you could leave it until say day 24 or so, then send the template appeal, if they have not cancelled it by then (to the correct person , with the correct VRN)
I realise you have already "appealed" in that you have contacted them, but twice or thrice is better than none at all, you dont want to be in a 6 year battle due to "missing the appeal deadline" , remember, you are not dealing with honest people here, they always want "a little bit more" and will duck and dive to get it0 -

The 14 days is irrelevant. It is too early to appeal if you got a windscreen ticket. The NEWBIES thread tells you this. You really need to read and re-read the NEWBIES thread so you understand what you should be doing, not keep asking questions here that are already answered in the NEWBIES thread.
In your email did you name yourself as driver? I hope not.
Stick to the tried and tested process.
Appeal to the PPC using the template in the NEWBIES thread around day 22 by post (First class from a Post Office and get a free proof of posting) or day 26 online.
Don't email the PPC again unless that's how you appeal, and then only round day 26-27 if you got a windscreen ticket.
You should also complain to the BPA and DVLA that Indigo have sent you someone else's details. This may be a breach of the DPA but that would depend on what other information about them has been revealed.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

are / is there any further details re the lady named on your reply off the scamers ?
data protection
keep up with the advice that you have been given ........
if you paid for solicitors advice you would not get better
so carry on and win ...
good luck

No other details other than her reg and full name.
The reason I'm posting is because I'm not 100% clear on what is said in the newbies thread. You say a windscreen ticket but is that what mine is classed as? As I bought online.
I've read the newbies thread and while it has some great information and advice I'm not sure what applies to this situation and which doesn't.
For example it says complain to the land owner but a previous post just said don't bother as it's the train car park.
I'm guessing I just send an appeal with a big list of reasons in the hope one holds true?
Appreciate the help, I will read the newbies thread again but I guess it's just me being stupid.0
