Good morning folks,
Folks is a term I'm considering using more often. It feels gentle and PC.
I left work yesterday sharpish so I could grab some dinner before heading back out to yoga however when I got out the lift of my flat and turned to go to my front door, there was a large couch squeezed in the little cove me and my neighbour share. Out from behind it appears my neighbour asking for help as she's stuck and had been since this morning when it was delivered and the delivery guy just left her to it! So we managed to release the couch and given the acute angle and size of the couch, it wasn't going to fit in her flat. Her parents arrived and they agreed to take it, so I helped them down the 3 flights of stairs and into their car. An hours worth of work but I really didn't mind, that's what neighbours are for. This meant I was late for yoga but I still went to the gym for a quick run, came home for a bath, read my book and bed.

Eventually got up this morning and forced myself to the gym to put in a few more miles on the treadmill and bike. No plans this evening which is nice, not too sure what I'll get up to. I was originally due to have my 2nd interview for The Reserves however I got an email asking to postpone till next week, which is fine by me. Tonight I've a new chicken mozzarella recipe to try, thankfully I remembered to take a breast out the freezer which isn't like me. Few other frogs on the list too. Hoping for a productive day!0 -
Good morning all,
I wasn't on yesterday morning as I was actually at the ITV studios to be in the audience for Judge Rinder, believe it or not. A colleague of mine got tickets for another show and explained the process was easy and FREE, so I took a look to see if there were any shows I liked and I spotted the Judge. I don't get to watch him often, as I am in work obviously, but when I do, I am always impressed with his common sense and logical approach. I feel there's a lesson to be learned from each episode. So, I got a ticket. I actually got 2 but my colleague couldn't take the time off. It was good, I enjoyed it. I took a half day, despite the actual cases and TV time only being maybe 90 minutes long. I'll be on TV at the turn of the year haha!!
Given my half day out of the office, I stayed late in work to make up for it, till about 8pm. Had my dinner at my desk as I tried to power through. Home to do some bits on the laptop then bed.

Good morning,
We made it to Friday!
Popped into the gym for a bit yesterday after work to go a light run, my neck was mostly ok. Home for a nice homemade dinner, a phone call with my mum and then football training. But, as usual, I had a terrible nights sleep after training. Took me ages to nod off and was restless during. So no gym this morning.

Ever day this week, I have had a super productive day in work and this could be to do with the fact my boss is on holiday. This seems counter counter-intuitive but I compare it to when I was young, maybe a young teenager: like most kids, my mum would always remind me to go for a bath/shower, face my face and brush my teeth before bed, every single night. Then, I remember the first night she was going to be late home and I had the house to myself, with nobody to remind me to do anything, and so I became super organised and prepared, as I didn't want to forget. So much so that I done additional chores because I was in this productive mindset. So, perhaps I subconsciously have a similar mindset at work. He's back today, so let's see how I manage today.
I'll go to the gym after work for a bit then my weekly phone call with my gran as I make my dinner. I pencilled in a night out tonight with my mate but he's not got back to me lately so I doubt if it's happening. If it doesn't, fine, I'm saving the cash. If it does, fine, it's been a while and I might make some new friends.
I don't really have too much planned this weekend, so we'll see what I get up to.
Have a good one everybody!0 -

Well, I had a really, really nice weekend. It didn't vary much from my usual weekend activities but I felt I maybe treated myself a bit a more. For example, I went to the local markets and bought some fresh steak and free range eggs (instead of from the SM) and I also managed to buy another Xmas present from the same markets too. They were turning on the Christmas lights that day and there were kids singing carols and proud parents standing by taking pictures. It was frosty and dry and I just came out of an enjoyable yoga sessions. I just felt really good. Even went to the local ice hockey at night with a mate of mine.

Yesterday I wanted to maintain this positivity, so I treated myself to a coffee and mid-morning cake from a local, independent coffee shop which was lovely. My football was cancelled so I decided to make a salted caramel Christmas log and steak burritos using yesterdays meat - both were lovely.
Spends - £6 - coffee and cake

So I start the week in high spirits. I've had my 5am FaceTime with my step-bro in South Korea and went to the gym. Got yoga tonight but aside form that, not much else planned.
Hope everyone has a great week ahead!0 -
hi Speky  didn't know you had a diary! I'll have a read0
-
Welcome CB!!
I personally don't think my diary is particularly exciting, I do it as much for my own benefit that anything else. Let's me get my thoughts and plans down in black and white whilst keeping me accountable, too.
My goodness it's a cold one today. I felt my face was not long getting 'frostbit' (have you seen the video of the Northern Irish boy, from years ago, talking to reporters about the weather? His strong accent makes it difficult to understand and he became a viral sensation. YouTube "Frostbit" and it's the first thing that comes up, if you fancy a chuckle). No gym this morning on account of me being shattered this morning, more so than usual. I'll see if I can pop in tonight but I've a busy night ahead.
Managed to go home after work yesterday to tidy up, make dinner and get back out to yoga. A really good/hard class and felt better for it afterwards - as I always do.
Spends: £2 - Yoga (accounted for)

Good morning and happy hump day to one and all!
I left work sharpish yesterday and had just enough time to get home make my dinner, lemon and homemade pesto gnocchi, before having to dart out again to meet with The Reserves. I then told my mum for the first time I was going through the process and she was speechless. Not sure what sort of reaction I expected but I don't think it was that. She's my go to person for an honest answer and she'll never shy away from telling me her thoughts, even if it's not what I want to hear. So silence was a bit peculiar. I'm not set on the idea and I'm still in the curious/fact-finding stage, so we're both in the same boat in terms of not knowing what the future holds. The positive is that there's no conflict just now, meaning all troops are just being trained, which to me sounds like tons of fun that I can do in my spare time. Anyway...

Went to the gym this morning. I'll nip into yoga at lunch and I might, depending on what time I finish, go a light run tonight too. Nothing else to do aside from make my dinner which is pomegranate chicken with almond couscous.0 -
Homemade pesto gnocchi with lemon and pomegranate chicken with almond couscous both sound absolutely delicious, Speky! Yum.
Re your mum, it sounds as though she just wasn't expecting it, but she will probably have something to say once she's thought it over? ...0
