  • Thank you for stopping by. Yeah, I suppose I have kept those lessons on board. It's hard not to when they were such an important part of the process.

    Morning everyone,

    Happy hump day!

Yesterday was long. Very long. Alarm went off at 4am to catch a red eye to London. After a manic day of running about in the wet yet warm capital, our return train was at 7.20pm. Which was delayed. And extremely busy. It was also then advised it would have to travel at a lower speed due to slower, delayed trains in front. Great. Then, finally, I paid my car parking (expenses) and the machine at the barriers wouldn't take my ticket. Que a frustrated and exacerbated conversation over the tanoy about how I have just paid £21!!...."I don't see any recent payments processed for that amount"....turns out he was looking at the wrong thing.

Annnnyway, a long and deserved sleep meant no gym this morning. Yoga at lunch and I might dip in after work, although there's some football on I'd like to catch if possible. TBD.
  • Good morning,

Didn't do too much last night aside from stay late in work then home for dinner and watching the football. I've not been counting this month but I recon I've done well on NSD's.

No gym this morning as I was practically frozen with tiredness when the alarm sounded at 5am, I still think I'm tired from London. I've the physio tonight, which is another £47.50 but I think/hope/believe it'll take me one step closer to fixing my knee. No plans aside from that, will probably opt for an early night after my weekly catch up with my gran.

Got a text from my landlord to tell me that's my 12 month term up and if I'd like to renew again. It hadn't even crossed my mind that this was a thing to consider, but now that the question has been asked, I'll look at other options but preliminary options don't look promising. The moment I lower my monthly spends, I'm in a dodgy area and/or a smaller flat. For the sake of £100, it probably makes sense for me to continue on. Food for thought.
  • Good morning chums,

    It's Friday!!!

Thank goodness. Just back form the doctors who after reviewing my blood tests, heart monitor, ear, balance, sleep, diet, stress etc has diagnosed me with benign positional vertigo. He seems to have come to this conclusion with common sense and was certain on his decision after his final test: he asked me to march on the spot, then, once I was in a rhythm, close my eyes and count to 50. He asked me to stop and when I opened my eyes, I was facing 90 degrees to the right!! I was amazed.

So, not too much to worry about it seems. I also had the physio last night, another £50 for 30 minutes, but again, I understand his logic and prognosis. Afterwards, I headed home and had an hour long catch up with my gran, then saw the GBBO. Bed for 9.30

Nothing much planned this weekend. I predict a late night in the office tonight as I've tons to do but we'll see how I get through it all. Steak and chips tonight for dinner!!!

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

  • How's the physio going? Is it helping?

I have been given some exercises but I'm told it's something which I will probably have most of my life. Symptoms will come and go, often triggered by lack of sleep, a cold or stress. The later is probably most likely in my case.
How's the physio going? Is it helping?
I've been seeing him weekly. Which was only achievable because my gran wanted to help with the cost and gave me some money. I'm seeing him again this week and there after it's coming out my pocket. And I can't afford to part with £200 in October for physio, so I'll need to ask that we calm down the frequency.

It's too early to say if he's helping. It's not a quick fix and requires a lot of work at my end too but I am confident that his diagnosis is right and the treatment is too, so I'm prepared to persevere for now and if there's no major signs soon, then take action. Thanks for asking.

Good morning and a happy Monday one and all,

I enjoyed my weekend. It felt like I didn't do much, probably because it's true. Aside from my standard things (gym, yoga, grocery shopping, tidying up), I mostly took the time to chill out. I even watched a movie for the first time in donkeys! The upside of which is that I don't spend.

I've a relatively busy week ahead, with something happening most evenings, which in turn means I need to leave work on time, give or take. Today is my typical Monday. I've been to the gym this morning, I'll leave quite sharp, home for dinner then to yoga for 90 minutes before heading back and straight into bed. And if I'm really good, I'll make some time to read my new book.

Wore my big jacket for the first time this season. This will probably the start of a trend now until Spring, so I best get used to it.
  • Good morning everyone,

Dull, grey, wet and windy. But I don't actually mind it too much. It reminds me of this time last year when I first moved here. A big adventure with an exciting future. Plus, it reminds me that the joys of Xmas is fast approaching.

Typical Monday evening for me yesterday as expected, which included a strenuous yoga session and I managed to read a few pages of my book too.

Alarm went off at 5am, made a coffee, got my gym clothes on and opted to enjoy my coffee from the comfort of my bed. Big mistake. So no gym this morning haha. Physio after work then boxing after.

    Oh, and happy October everyone!
  • September was a nice month which begun with a lovely holiday to Spain. Furthermore, I began seeing a private physio for my knee, to the tune of £47.50 a pop, and he wants to see me weekly (of course he does). Aside from this, it was a typical month, nothing out of the ordinary really. The girl who I had started speaking to sent me a message to say that she’s started to see someone else. I appreciate her letting me know as opposed to the silent treatment or not telling me and we still go a date or whatever. Oh well.

    Career
    • Make a sale
The owner of the business has commented on his confidence in us as a team and reassured us we’re not in any danger of losing jobs etc. Although nice to hear, I’m assuming that’s not the case and won’t rest on my laurels.
    • Maintain performance journal - DONE
A good habit I have started and is something which I update every working day
    • Write news articles for work every 2 months
I finished my 3rd article earlier in the month and is due to be published this week. I’m well ahead of schedule on this.

    Relationships
    • Keep in touch with family and friends
A week in Spain with my DM, SD and friends was perfect. Aside from this, I didn’t make it to Scotland so made sure I kept in contact with my friends until I see them again.
    • Meet new people
I didn’t do much socialising in Manchester due to my time (and spends) in Spain.

    Self
    • Cut down phone time - DONE
I’ve now got myself into a place where I don’t need to check my phone constantly, which was the aim of this particular game.
    • Less sugar
All the festivities, siestas, cervesas are over. A couple of months before Christmas, so I’ll tighten up the ship.
    • Read more (4/5)
Finished my 3rd book and even polished off a 4th on holiday. Now on my 5th, a book about the importance of sleep.
    • Meditate & Attend yoga frequently - DONE
Now going to yoga 3 times a week and sticking to that as much as I can.
    • Continue to learn Spanish - DONE
Duolingo have made some changes to the experiences which helps spur me on. So I’ll maintain this every lunch

Looking forward to October, I have my parents coming to visit next weekend and then I’ll be travelling up to Scotland the week after for my best friends mum’s leaving party. Nothing else planed, so I intend to get the head down to focus on health/fitness, saving and simultaneously keeping an eye on Christmas, as I’d like to start getting ideas together.

I want to make this diary more financially focused moving forward. I’m trying to think of ways in which I can do that effectively but it will ultimately have to include me being transparent with my spends in one way or another. Leave it with me.
  • Good morning - Happy hump day!

I had a busy day yesterday. After work I had the physio which consists of exercises, acupuncture, cupping and massage to the tune of £47.50. Quickly visited the gym afterwards then headed home for dinner, football and the bake off.
    Total Spends - £47.50
    NSD - 0/17

No gym this morning. Again, I was more tired than usual so I'll go after work instead. I'll need to stay later in work to call my clients in America but aside from that, nothing on the cards.
  • Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was glorious. Not in a cloud in the sky all day but was still quite nippy and leaves have began to fall. Shame I didn't get the chance to make the most of it in anyway as I was in the office. I did nip out to yoga (£2) at lunch, mind you. Stayed late in work, headed home and had a catch up call with my mum and gran. I got a job notification for a job in London that I'd love. Although I'm not looking, I think I'll stick my CV in nonetheless at some point in the next few days, when I find the time.
    Total Spends - £2
NSD - 1/17 (because yoga is all budgeted for)

I managed to force myself up this morning and go to the gym. I spent most of my time doing my exercises/stretches that the physio has prescribed but needs must. I've got a work night out tonight to watch the football and get some food which will be nice. No idea where we're going, so don't know what the spends will be but, as ever, I'll try not to do it. Especially on a school night.
