Hi just want to say Im glad that all went well for you and I wish you a speedy recovery

Thank you everyone, you have all made this less painful for me and my husband, I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I wouldn't have known what to expect or who to turn to.
The OR telephones a few times yesterday, she went through a lot of questions with my husband. She said she would rather do things via telephone to avoid any durther stress for me and said she didn't want to put me through an interview as a lt of people can find talking about how they got to the stage of bankruptycy upsetting. So we don't need to go for an interview at all.
I thought it may be a good idea for the benefit of people thinking about what to expect from bankruptcy to put down a few of the questions that we were asked and the documentation we have been asked to supply.
Firstly we were asked why we went down the bankruptcy road.
When did the debts first begin.
What have we been doing to avoid it.
All the details of cars etc.. need to be proved in documentation.
All correspondence we have from creditors needs to be sent to the OR.
Copies of tenancy agreement if you are in rented accomodation.
Proof of benefits and all bank account details.
We also explained we had been selling things on ebay to raise funds for the creditors, which the OR said, we all have to d what we can at times. She wan't interested at all in anything we made from buying and selling things on ebay. Which we were extremely worried about.
Also yesterday, one of our creditors rang asking why we hadn't paid. We explained we are now bankrupt and gave them the bankruptcy numbers. My husband explained that we saw no other option due to my health. Surprisingly they were extremely nice, they told us we wouldn't be hearing from them again as they had now put the details on our accounts. She then wished us all the best for the future...... I admit I was a bit stunned, they were the the worst of the lot for hassling us for more money, and their previous phone calls were all stressful.
I cannot tell you in words just how much I feel like I have been released from a death sentance, I feel so relieved and my husband, feels like a huge weight has been lifted.
My health us far from normal, nor will ever be normal again, but at least noow I can rest knowing my family will be fine, and concentrate on trying to get myself better and enjoy my family without the worry of how I'm going to pay off ant debts.
I am going to jeep updating this and offer my help to anyone else who needs any support, because it IS really important that everyone get the support and help they need.
Thank you again everybody, you are all extremely wonderful people. :A0 -

Hi Madeline. GREAT NEWS. I have been trying to help you in the beginning, because I was going through the same situation, but sooner than you. However you are now one step ahead of me. I have had a call from the receiver today asking if it would be ok to ring tomorrow to go through some questions to finalise the bankruptcy details. (of course I said yes)!! Anyway very nice chap. I went bankrupt on the 10 the October (like your date, probably one I will never forget). I was told the questions were not anything I wouldn't know and to have the files I got from court with me. But it is great to have an idea of the questions. Just shows, that from help you give, you get back from this site or visa versa.
Please update, this is one of the first sites I go to when I come on, to see how you are.
ALL THE BEST FOR NOW AND THE FUTURE.:j :T :ABe thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Bluewkd, it's nice to know things are going well. Our's has really slowed down at the moment, the OR said she would send us a list of documents she needed and details of other information like
tenancy agreement,
proof of my car being a motability car,
benefit entitlement details
and any documentation that any creditors have sent to us.
She did say she would send it first class last Monday, but we've had nothing yet. I got a new form from the court yesterday as the original document had the wrong address on it.
Other than that, we have not had any hassle from any creditors at all. I'm just hoping it stays that way.
My general state of mind has improved so much because I no longer have the stress of "where am I going to find the money to pay that", plus no phone calls or letters.
It just goes to show, in my case, what a huge difference going bankrupt has made to me and my family. I very much doubt that I would be feeling this way had I not gone bankrupt.
My only regret is, not doing it sooner. Maybe I would have avoided the stroke I had.
At least now, I am able to concentrate on getting well.
This site is a huge place but it is also VITAL, had I not come here, I wdon't know where I would be now.
And Again, I want to thank everyone who has helped me, because you all hellped me in one of the most desperate situations I have ever been in. Not only that. Your help has given me back some life, which I cherish every single day.
THANK YOU0 -
Hi Madeleine, I'm glad to see it has made a positive difference to you!
