I'm a relative newby to bank account switching, but I've been remarkably impressed with Halifax so far.
They paid my incentive as soon as the bank account was opened - before the switch even took place. The switch has gone through quite painlessly and the app (android) seems to work as it should.
Looking forward to them furnishing me with a fiver a month now!

No. I don't see that I'll ever need to. The only time I ever have to visit branches is paying in cheques. I'm trying to recall the last time I had one - I think it was probably a cashback cheque from a mobile phone deal. These deals haven't been as good recently, so I've moved to Sim-only.
I have both a Nationwide and a TSB very close to my work, so if I ever have anything to pay in they would do the business.
I'm purely referring to ease of opening, opening incentive and the app. Nationwide took a while to open the account and to pay out - so getting a text saying the £125 was paid in before I even had my log-in number and before the switch was done was very impressive.0 -
Halifax and the wider group are getting better all the time IMO. Good competitive products and the online services are improving all the time. The iPad app is one of the best just three characters to log in like the Android app and you can pretty much do everything. No need for a branch for me but I've never had problem the few times I've needed to pay in in one.0

Which they will do, as regular as clockwork, as long as you continue to meet the T&C of course;)0 -
I've been with Halifax for 2 years. Can't fault them really. Have a current account, Help to Buy ISA, clarity loan and credit card with them and not had any problems whatsoever.0

I've been with Halifax over 25 years and while I have Lloyds and Nationwide current accounts too the Halifax is my favourite. Easy to manage my accounts on line and open/close new accounts. Telephone service is good too and the few times I've needed to go into the branch they have been okay though their savings advisor was less informed than me lol when I was opening new account for DD who was then a minor.
Lloyds my least favourite due to their staff not being able to deal properly with queries and their online banking being awful when closing/opening accounts.
Nationwide are okay, not a huge fan of their online banking layout but then I'm so used to Halifax and how easy they are to use.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Forgive me for this question, but I've been reading through the T&Cs and can't find the answer - are halifax a bank which requires the account being switched to have dd set up in order to get the £125 switcher bonus?
Or will I still get the bonus without setting up any dds prior to moving?0
