Happy Birthday to TA :bdaycake::bdaycake:
I spent last night with middle DD and cooked us a chicken stir fry. This morning we had bacon, toast and scrambled eggs for breakfast and I have a chilli simmering for lunch with another stir fry for tonight for her.
We are planning a visit to I**a later tonight to have a look at bedroom furniture for when I get the bedroom sorted by builders next week.
I put some washing outside yesterday and loaded the whirly thingie then tried to raise it up - it came right out of the ground and I was left dancing around with it before managing to get it back into the ground.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Thanks Hester for todays thread . Try to find a little time for you this weekend - it all sounds so hectic .
TA Happy Birthday and wishing you many more . Enjoy your day it sounds wonderful .
Tru Scampi sounds such a character , would it be too faffy to tie the gate , small bungee cords or similar ?
Still quite grey here at the moment although the sky is lightening slowly so I have hopes it could yet brighten up . All washing was done and dried yesterday so I will start ironing when I put the the tv on tonight for casualty . Just about to have some soup for lunch and hopefully get out in the garden to sort out the damage from winter . Today is the first chance I've had to spend some proper time out there since early autumn so lots to do . When I was hanging the laundry out yesterday the smell from the hyacinths out there was really glorious , very good for the spirit . They have all been planted over the years from potted bulbs bought as gifts in white and blues of different shades and I love them .
Lovely to see Elona , hope you've got your walking shoes on . I like some of the products in i**a but not the tramp through the entire sales area , very clever marketing but not for me or my painful joints .
Casserole for supper as it can look after itself in a very low oven.
Garden time . Hope you all have a good day .
Very gentle hugs for Judi and her Mum .

TA, the 60s were the best era ever, we all thought we had invented everything.
I only have to hear a piece of music, be it, Roy Orbison or the Beach Boys and I am 20 again.
Himself tells me he went on holiday to Great Yarmouth with his mates before he met me, and all the stars were performing that week.at different theatres.
Elona good to see you, I have a vision of you peeping over numerous cardboard boxes but your bungalow sounds as though it will be lovely when you have had all the work done.
Hugs to you both

TA - your day sounds lovely, all those yummy chocs, and you brought so many memories back to me.
I'm about ten years younger but remember all those groups and songs. The first single I got was 'Hang on Sloopy' by The McCoys, I can still picture myself devising a dance to go with it, and then dancing round the living room. Then my first album was 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles - that was a birthday present.
Today it has rained all day, what a washout. No washing done as it would have been sheets and they would take ages to dry inside - there is sunshine promised on Tuesday so they can wait. Instead I've been researching and 'pre-pre-pre' planning for a trip round the north coast of Scotland. There are so many things to see and visit on the way round the 500 miles, and on the way to Inverness where the trip starts. I'm getting excited for June already.
Two new DVDs popped through my door today so I may just settle down to watch them. Feet up, head down and a cup of coffee at my hands.
Hope everyone else is having a good day too. Hugs if you're not,0 -
Afternoon all,
happy birthday TA. I hope your having a lovely day.
Went shopping this morning except that we didnt quite get there. We went for breakfast them hubby went looking for rigger boots for work and i went looking for shoes suitable for wearing on the beach when we go next month. I was thinking of a walking type shoe that i could also use when i walk to Moms. Problem is that the most comfortable of shoes i found were trainers and i hate trainers with a passion! I saw some Sketchers i thought were ok but hubby pulled a face at them. He honestly cant see why i cant wear my heels all the time after all 'other women do'. That was like a red rag to a bull and i pointed out every woman who wasnt wearing heels to walk around the shopping centre. By that time he was tired, i was tired so we came home. Maybe we will do the food shop later or tomorrow. He's fast asleep now hoping to shift his headache.
Havent heard anything from the retirement home. I'll spend an hour with Mom and the night staff later on tonight. I havent seen the night staff for weeks and i want to know whether Mom is asleep all day and all night too.
Onwards and forwards,
have a good evening all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Been finishing the washing and tidying , made a veggie lasagne as dd2 fancied one for tea , I have some hm roasties in the freezer that I can put with it
I've been trying to sort my kitchen cupboards out today , I have a small kitchen and not many cupboards so space is at a premium . I've started going through and getting rid of anything not used for a while , I've sorted my spice jars and put them in the pantry so I can see them better . Ive only done half of the cupboards so will do the rest tomorrow
Right time forms cuppa
Have a lovely afternoon everyone xx0 -
I remember Mary Well's singing 'My Guy' and every time I hear it I am taken back to around 1964 when I was a young wife of 21 odd living in a tiny flat in Peckham,London. For some reason I can remember being on my hands and knees washing down the lino on the communal staircase with a small transistor radio playing away beside me and her singing it.
You know how years later for some unknown reason a particular day stays in your mind, that was my dayand 'My Guy' brings it back so clearly, daft isn't it.The 1960s was a lovely decade even though we had the death of Kennedy, the Profumo affair and the Great Train Robbery life seemed so much simpler back then
