I have had a few problems as a buyer on EBay, but have always contacted the seller to get them resolved. In all cases, the seller has been keen to resolve instantly

I just get the feeling that some buyers think they are being scammed and I've taken their £2.50 and not posted the item

I know they're not happy they haven't got their item, but I'm even more unhappy to have lost the item and the postage paid. The one this morning should have got their item yesterday, but opened a case this morning asking for a refund.

In the 14 years I've been selling on eBay I've never had so many INRs and the cynical part of me thinks that some buyers know exactly how to get free stuff.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

It's not being cynical at all.. How many times does your postie return an INR claim? in my experience never. but I have had returns that have surprised both me and the buyer when I've contacted them to ask why/whatever.. It's said to be a given that eBay encourages fraud and I believe it so..

As for manners.. don't start me... lol there seems to be an attitude of what I call "f*** you" rife in society these days. it's not just the internet.. some cretin left a supermarket trolley against my bonnet today because they couldn't be bothered to walk 20m to the trolley park A quick glance around spotted 3 more just dumped trolleys.. et cetera etcetera.. It's all pretty indicative of modern society.

Thing is guys, you do need to create a system for dealing with INR enquiries. 50% of people will "drop off" if you have some good email answers set up. I can't tell you all about ours because a lot of time and thought went into it but you are business people after all? Of the remaining ones, we report each and every one to Royal Mail and get a book of stamps, and I know everyone's busy - you need a spreadsheet and you have 80 days to wait for a slack day to do it.

  • The thing that I notice is on the increase is buyers sending you eBay messages in the form of one line text speak messages, and a string of them one after the other, in basically what amounts to spamming.
Don't people realise that a business will check their messages at particular times of the day, or once a day, we won't be reading and replying to your messages while sat on the toilet doing our business!!! :O

It's just so annoying, send us a message, we will give it attention in order of receipt with everyone elses. If you split your message up into 10 little one liners with ranting and raving in between, it will just water down what you've got to say and make it very disjointed.
    *rant over*

I find that's one of the better times ;)
The only time I don't answer straight away is if I need to check something first, in the middle of the night or when I'm driving. Other than that I pretty much check emails when they come in and answer them when I've read them. Most punters just want reassuring that you haven't run off with their money.
Some people do think everyone is ripping them off, why they bother buying online is beyond me.
