Another request for item not received. Not even any comments this time. Should have arrived yesterday according to EBay, so both buyers have opened cases immediately

I am now seriously concerned that I will lose my TRS over this, I am already at 1.76 % for late deliveries, and these two still have to be included

Just checked and out of 115 sales this month, only five have left feedback so my defect rate is going to go through the roof as this new stupid metric only takes into account the number of buyers who answer the delivered on time question

That's it, I'm off to look at Amazon.

I did not get a late defect for my INR in January. Also for your TRS you have 4% to play with so all is not lost.

Touch wood I haven't had a late now since early January, but in my case I stopped using eBay postage labels as they print a watery grey and I wondered if that was slowing the scanning down. I've switched to click and drop that print a lovely deep black. However since the lates don't update in real time I could be hiding a whole load I know nothing about.

Not that I've got mAny sales anyway, came back from holiday and took off my holiday settings, had the usual flurry of sales immediately the settings changed, then it basically just stopped. I think I am completely invisible as even my bread and butter items are not moving at all.

It's all because ebay has a button on the dropdown which says "I didn't recieve my item"

Luckily these INRs no longer count as a defect- but it still doesn't hurt for a buyer to add their comments in a cohesive and polite manner.

I don't see that as a problem, because I have trouble getting people to select that.

I do get irritated with people who choose the cheapest option and cheapest postage and then expect the item the next day, or ask it to be posted first class after paying. Go to the most expensive guy and ask for the ultra rated service , not the cheapest guy.

    I agree

I think a lot of the time people do not know they are opening a case. They just think this is the best way to find out.

Maybe they think they will find tracking info?

Either way having clicked on this button they are then perfectly within their rights to express themselves in as short a phase as possible in the questions.

That does not mean (unless they are offensive) that they lack manners, it just means they are busy people asking you a question, down a route that ebay has suggested they use.

They do not know it has a negative impact on you

Not the end of manners or civilization.

I can understand the frustration as a seller but as a buyer opening a case seems like the natural thing to do. Your not dealing with a friend or family but a faceless seller on the internet who more often than not is running a business.

I judge eBay sellers against the likes of Amazon if they have made claims in their blurbs about being reliable/efficient/quick/genuine.

I overstate delivery times when selling but I guess it doesn't matter as much to me as an occasional seller.

As a buyer I will always approach the seller first before opening a case.

If I get no response or we can't resolve things then I open a case.

These days it makes no odds. Most savvy sellers will direct a buyer to open a case.

Open cases are not defects anymore and asking a buyer to open one shows the amount of INR/SNADs they have as being recorded.

It just appears in different ways with each generation. People can now be rude in so many formats, messaging, emails, comments, telephone, etc.
My parents had shops when I was a kid and there were always rude customers. My response has always to be even more polite, it does wind them up more than being rude!
When I was on Ebay I would occasionally ask why their message had been so rude, I received a couple of apologies. Customers don't always realise they're dealing with a person as opposed to a big company. Not that that excuses it, I've always found that being nice gets better results than being a jerk. As a seller, being rude to me doesn't encourage me to help.
