Im going out with someone who lives over there so I am over usually once a month or so. Its not actually the £40, its more that is doesnt state anywhere that they can charge the difference, but I could easily find the clause for their charges if I cancelled.0

Your situation may be the exception in these circumstances and they haven't updated their systems to take account of this, try and speak on the phone to someone else and see if you get anywhere.
I still think they will argue a "no seat availability at that price" point.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Well well well!
I took a chance online and rebooked for the planned dates, one way was roughly the same as my original, with the intention to pay the difference on the other flight if needs be. It went through no problem!0 -
I think this is an error by the Easyjet website.
You should only pay the difference if the fault was yours (which it wasn't).
Make sure they refund you the air passenger duty as well. When I claimed for a Manc-Copenhagen flight last year, I was paid out minus this, until I emailed them. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0
