Buy one new tyre. Your others have loads of life left in them! There's quite simply no need to waste money buying sets of axles0

This. It's also far better for the environment (in a REAL way) to not have 3 extra tyres added to a waste pile somewhere while they still have life in them!
Although, I'm farfrom convinced that the symptoms you described are being caused suddenly by a tyre reaching the limit. Both sound more like a suspension bush or joint failing.0 -
How is your spare? Does it need replacing?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

As already mentioned, try looking for yourself on sites like Blackcircles etc. Obviously you're not going to get the likes of Michelin or Bridgestone for that price (although not that much more) but you'll still get a pretty decent tyre for around £60.I'm not sure where you're getting two 'decent tyres' and fitting for £60 from.0 -
Exactly, there is nothing odd with it. I would just avoid having uneven ones on the traction wheels since not too much of an issue to swap them..a mismatch of tyres might simply be down to the fact tyres get punctures and local tyre fitter insisted they couldnt be repaired
imho, it's a waste of money to replace tyres that have much to go, unless they are different types.to OP you don't say what car, but why not fit a pair of new tyres to the axle with the low tyre and as funds permit do the other axle in time, cars always drive better with new tyres of the same make even if budget0 -
And you may also end up having a puncture on the tyre you replaced without reason and end up having to replace both again. What is the point?0

I'd just buy the one tyre. I now do very little mileage and buy part worn which are usually hardly worn. A big saving and never had a problem. Don't know if that makes me tight [this is a moneysaving forum] or green or both.
Whatever. Works for me.0
