All 084, 087 and 09 numbers are premium rate.

Customer services, financial services and public services are no longer allowed to use these numbers. Most have swapped to 03 or 080 numbers.

    Inclusive allowances include:
    - geographic numbers starting 01 and 02,
    - non-geographic numbers starting 03, and
    - mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079.

Not entirely correct. I have an EE contract which costs 30p per month with 250 minutes which includes calls to ALL 08 numbers. It may not be included in new contracts, but it used to be.

03xx numbers are the same as 01xx and 02xx, so included in allowance.

084x and 087x are essentially premium rate numbers and will be expensive on any current or recent contract.

In your case other customers on your network are paying the Service Charge for the calls you make to premium 084 and 087 numbers.

You have a current or recent plan with all 084 and 087 numbers included?

I've had a look at the price guides going back to 2014 and don't see one listing it.

What are the details of your plan?

I do. I use it a lot. In fact, of my 7 contracts I only use this one FOR 08 numbers (of all types). Two or three years ago they did, in fact, include them in new contracts.

It's a sim-only with 250 minutes, 250 mb and texts and it now costs me 30p per month.
  • I believe mobilejunkie is talking about a T-Mobile contract from a few years ago where they did in fact include 08 numbers in the allowance and at one time it was possible to get as many as 3000 minutes.

Are you trying to say that other customers are subsidising the cost of his calls to 08 numbers as they are paying the 45p access charge? There were contracts with inclusive 08 calls long before the access/service charge system was implemented.
