Sorry total baloney! she probably estimates she has won 500 prizes from 5 entries a day but unlikely.
Maybe 2008/2009 you could do 30/40 prizes a month as a lot of us were doing then off 50/80 or so a day, but no chance on 5 a day.
About time compers had a code like fight club........
The first rule of comping is: You do not talk about comping. The second rule of comping is: You do not talk about comping.
So why don't you lead by example Toniq? How many posts have you made here about your wins, your entries? Everyone in the world can read them. What's the difference? How did you find out about comping? Did you just fall across comping or did you read about it somewhere that peaked your interest? The reason many compers nowadays aren't winning is because you're all fishing in the same ponds! MSE is one of the main sites mentioned in many comping circles. You guys are adding to your own despair you just don't realise it. If you aren't winning enough perhaps you ought to look up how many people are reading this forum day in and day out.0 -
And as if that wasn't enough to bring hordes of new compers to the boards all expecting to win £1000s, I've just spotted this in the weekly email:
9.
Yeah, thanks for that.
Yeah - Thanks for that? (Huh) How long have you been comping and who do you thank for showing you how it's done? I'm sure you didn't just rack up here on a whim did you?0 -

I don't. I thank the original posters when entering and contact them to thank again if I am lucky enough to win. I have never "posted everything I enter and win on MSE" ...and even if it did, it's somewhat different sharing within the comping community who understand that you need to enter more than 5 competitions a day to get any - if any - decent return, than it is with a sensationalised tale with the national press.
Whilst of course anyone is entitled to enter any competitions they wish, it is just my opinion that I cannot understand the mentality of anyone wanting to lower their own odds on future comps by selling their stories just for a quick cheque or their 15 minutes.0 -

I hear you IOY - but the point I'm making is that you guys (generalisation here) is that on this forum day in and day out you shout about your wins and entries. What is the difference? Lorraine made one tv appearance and one newspaper article. So who is really lowering their odds? Her or you? I've been a member here for years. I don't post (as those who are searching me out right now will find) but how do you know how much info I have gleaned from here? A lot? A little? You've no idea how much I've won following all the advice and posts that you guys have all put here. So are any of you really in a position to slag others off whilst at the same time doing exactly the same thing over a long - very long -period of time yourselves? :question:0 -
On this community people generally understand the odds of wins etc, people if you post in i won won't rip into your status as they do under paper stories. The way the press portray the ones that do stories is that comping is a get rich quick scheme and holidays and big wins fall into your lap, it gives people false hope.
That is my point.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

Umm ... I did. I'm sure a fair few others did too. This site is not just about comping ...0 -

Exactly my point! You came here - you saw comping - you wanted to join in. Every comper starts somewhere. Complaining that others will join in because they read the paper or watched the telly and saw Lorraine - whilst at the SAME time telling the world about YOUR comping habits is being a hypocrite. Do you not see that?0 -
