If you can put up with the ads at the beginning and the ad break it starts @ 16 mins in following the ad break

Love the expert they have to comment.

"Dr James Hind, lecturer in statistics at Nottingham Trent University, said: "If the chance of winning was one in a thousand, most people would expect to enter 20,000 contests in order to win 20 times – that's one contest every day for about 55 years."

Well what can one say? Of course we all only enter one competition a day and expect to win 20 out of 20,000. This is the type of stupid quote that gets statistics a bad name. Well done.

Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change

It's a well known fact that 38.7% of statistics are made up on the spot. ;)

Statistics often used like a drunk man uses a lamp post - for support rather than illumination.

And as if that wasn't enough to bring hordes of new compers to the boards all expecting to win £1000s, I've just spotted this in the weekly email:

    9.
COMPERS: 'I enter 600 competitions a day and won £50k of prizes.' Turn entering competitions into a cash-boosting hobby like forumite Holly Smith, who enters around 600 comps per day. She said: "I've won £50,000 worth of prizes in 5 years from entering comps I spot on the MSE comping forum. It gives me a fantastic lifestyle." We've full tips, incl how to form-fill at speed, generate tiebreakers, and chat for cash prizes, in 44 Comping Tips.

    Yeah, thanks for that.

yes, but at least a magaxzine gives you an hour's reading and a few puzzles.
Did she even win anything from itv ? Surely this is just promoting itv's comps, wonderful as they are.

One thing to note (newbies, this is for you) is that a lot of her wins were from local competitions.

Really don't understand the mentality of shouting from the rooftops about your comping hobby. Whenever it's by blogposts, articles or putting your face on TV - you are lowing your own odds for possible future wins!

    >>>>>>>and yet posting everything you enter and win on MSE doesn't do exactly same thing? Think about it. You guys crack me up with your hypocrisy and double standards. :(
