It's quite amusing that your method of getting back at Halifax is to drum up new customers for them! I don't think that will quite have the affect you think it will.

Paying for customers £120 a year, much better than a one off £100 or £150 ;)

Besides a 4% ISA with a Help to Buy government top up, candy from (public schoolboy) children in government and bank management.

I always tell everyone ALWAYS say I'm not interested when banks try to sell anything and look online.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

They actively advertise that you can get £5 a month - you encouraging people to sign up for the £5 is exactly what Halifax does.

No we were being trained to address anything as a upsell. Turn a negative to a positive for the bank, FINANCIALLY. I only picked the one I remember most, a irate customer, wedding, could not pay wedding things due to staff error with replacement cards, sell a loan when the account had thousands in it for the wedding - this was one on one mock training on the phone. Ignore complaint, play it down + tell customer you can authorise large counter withdraw next day at branch with passport when they take a loan on the phone.

    It was shocking.

While they've never tried to up-sell to me, I'm struggling to see how it's shocking? Unless you were trained to mercilessly berate them until they gave in, these are adults who are perfectly capable of saying "no thank you".

Refuse to take a official complaint by distracting the customer, tell a customer they can be authorised to make a large withdrawl only if they take out a loan could you release in branch with passport ID.

Lie to customer at all counts to banks financial gain, its mis-selling and misconduct.

I followed what LBG wanted on the mock call 3 or 4 times to put up with a continued irate mock customer, I was trained to repeat my apologies and my answers continued until the customer relented and take the loan, if the customer called back to make a complaint to a second operator we were told to take the complaint about the first operator that would be done as such but unless we went against our training no action would be taken. ie only lie and mislead as LBG approved.

LBG were training unethical and against codes of conduct on complaints and selling.

Halifax dont advertise up north, although they have few new branches, Halifax is owned by BOS who have branches all over Scotland where no £5 Reward Account exists, it is not well known up north Halifax even has new branches since all H branches became BOS as per forced too.

Halifax slowly but surely will build up a new small branch network in Scotland as not to upset governmental depts.

  • Hi everyone

Sorry to bombard this thread with my question but new to this and really cant figure out how to start a fresh new thread..

Had interviews with RBS, all went well!
My concern is the credit check, I cant help but worry constantly!
As far as credit, I have no CCJs, no bankruptcy, no defaults ect. Nothing serious along those lines!
Only issues with my credit would be few missed payments recently, but all are caught up now and paid as I sorted them last week.

Can anyone pls advise what RBS look for and what would be a fail.
    Will missed payments fail me?
I cant put my mind to rest!

    Thanks guyssss x

A few missed payments is serious.

Hopefully it won't inhibit your employment prospects but be prepared to explain why you have financial issues.

Get hold of your credit reports as a matter of urgency to see how your situation is reflected on your credit files and correct anything inaccurate if it's not already too late to do so:
