    Hi

We got a letter on Saturday stating that they are going to look into our claims for the years concerned, it states they are looking into some cases. Fingers crossed they fix their disasterous mistakes and do something about their mistakes to us!!!

Same here!! Years 2004/05 and 2005/06 for us...fingers x'd! They told us we owed £2000:eek:     ...I dont think so. Have repaid about £700 so far, so if this is refunded...that will a super bonus!!

  • I've no idea how it works either, just talking to friends who earn loads more than us and they us seem to get more tax credit than us. I've not had any for 18mths beacause of over payments. I like most people get lots of letters saying different things but haven't got refund letter, !!!!!!!
Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

I totally agree with you . The only reason ive got overpayments is because i have kept them updated with change of circumstances !!!!!! !!!...holes.
The more you ring them the more wrong they get it ....
  • Still no letter here and haven't seen anymore in the news! So frustrating that the criteria is not clear and that some will benefit and others won't. I definately didn't have a letter, our overpayment was only ever included in out statement and we were told that our payments would be reduced to repay it. We've never had a breakdown or statement regarding how much we have actually paid back! Hope someone is able to find out more - MSE MARTIN ARE YOU THERE????

  • Hi, I had to pay £1800 back over 18 month and this crippled me totally. This was cleared last month, thank god for that. I was informed I had to pay it back due to a computer scanning error when changing from paper assessments to computerised. They which claimed I was severly handicapped and overpaid me for it for two years. As i was on a very low income I received the max WFTC anyway so didn't even think they could overpay me:mad: . I found out a month after starting reduced WFTC that i could dispute it. I was given 1 form and told to fill it in for the two years claims. That I did. I rang today to find out the outcome of my appeal and was told that my appeal was won for one year only as i only filled in one appeal form not two, one for each year, I was told I could no longer claim for the second year of overpayments as winning the first year had closed my case. Great their mistake again I lose out. Anyway this decision was made in February this year. But i jave continued to pay until August even though i won. The man on the WFTC line said i should have received a letted and a refund by March. He claimed he couldn't do anything for me as all the details were now removed from my account. Now I have to write a complaint letter to get this looked into and hope that my refund comes. I am however going to fight tooth and nail for the second years overpayment refund because that was their incompetance as well. Here goes...
