    Cruise dress!

Love, love, love cruising. Princess cruise with DD on the Royal Princess last year and it was my fave cruiseline so far. But to be honest never had a bad cruise.

Yes, I have just 3 types of clothing now
warm stretchy things for gardening and cleaning
various pjs and dressing gowns for sofa wear
    cruise dresses :rotfl:

Mhoc, I think with those colours you need a jacket in a completely contrasting colour, no point in trying to match any of the colours because a slight mismatch will stand out like a sore thumb. The black pashmina will be perfect and will go with anything.

That said, I hope you can wear it without a jacket because it will stand up so well on it's own :D

yes on a ship it will be no problem because inside and evenings its always warm enough for cocktail dresses - I just have to keep to the soft drinks so I don't get the alcohol flush which would clash :D

MKS I do think agency carers are organised differently from Council Carers as we used to have regular meeting and communication with our supervisors on what was required by the patients ..saying that It was a long time ago 40 years :eek:and things are so different this day and age ...

You are right about CC's and agency. TS is also correct in her post about the continuity and management. Most of Dads carers were lovely people but had enormous pressure on them, some of it by incompetent management.

For me, a big part of the care is that it gives the older person someone to see and chat to in a social sense, on a regular basis and that is a lifeline to many people who don't have family/visitors for whatever reason. A major issue for me was that English was not the first language for most of Dads carers. I stress that this did not affect their ability to carry out their work. Dad got frustrated when they couldn't understand what he wanted. With English speaking carers, they could understand his needs better and they would chat about the weather, football, tv programmes etc whilst attending to him.

I'll get off of my soapbox now, Nanny.

It is because all the carers will be working to full capacity and probably one of the other slots was already in place before your dad needed care and had to be fitted in. Unfortunately it is then difficult to change times for other people already in the system. Your dad may have taken a slot of someone who no longer needed care who may have lived closer to the other person originally. They just don't have enough slack to rework the routes etc, so it just gets worse. :(

I agree that the carers do work to full capacity on the slots/routes that they are given. I think it may be different here. There are several agencies. The one Dad had, no person had a fixed slot so it wasn't the case that Dad had a slot not needed by another person previously. It was just a badly managed agency and they are now 'under review'.

Ironically, a carer for a different agency lived two doors down from Dad. She was horrified at the slapdash (for want of a better word) approach for Dads care by the agency. Her agency appeared to operate as you've described and she saw her clients at roughly the same time each day and was able to give them their meals etc at appropriate times.

according to the nice chap on Head for points

    http://www.cardmemberoffers.co.uk/dining/pizza-express/

Register any Amex cards you have, spend £50 at pizza express get £20 autocredited back onto your account.
Each card has to be registered separately.

this might or might not appear on your statement page under the offers tab. I don't think you would get it twice if you registered on both the tab and on the page.

worryingly it says not to be used with offers or promotions - so I am not sure if this means the tastecard 2 for 1 offer or the student 40% off or the regular meal deals they do on Wednesdays and Sundays ...

How would they tell from the final bill?

I've got a very old sainsburys nectar amex which I don't pay annual fees on because it pre dates this and my number was accepted.
