So basically, there's no arguing with the till system. And especially no arguing afterwards.

If there is to be no recompense after purchase, it might just be better to reject the shop at the till if the total does not match expectation in terms of BG.

Easy enough (for a small targeted shop) to leave a wallet at home etc.

That's what I've always suggested. I'm amazed that people still pay! Although, tbh, they might have had £5 moneycards in the past for a failure, plus the difference they should have got, and therefore come out better - whereas I'd have rejected the whole lot of shopping at the point of payment and never been able, potentially, to get back a bit more. But, yes, if they are no longer going to make sure the difference is what it should be (for us) - then, as we are the only ones that know what we should be paying, then we shouldn't be paying anything more than what we expect to. And that means, if a pattern of 'no-compensation' now ensues, we are not to do our custom at all with T but reject the whole shopping, leave the whole lot in the store and not buy any of it from them!

Just tell them, in full hearing of other customers, that the BG isn't giving what was expected, that it's not matching the prices of the competitor (which is probably true in the case of glitchy wines that don't take their own mbuy into account:rotfl:) and therefore sorry no reject the whole lot!

At the end of February I ordered a Lenovo all in one computer online from PC world and collected it instore.

Its windows 10 which is a big jump for me as I have been using Vista and also an iPad and I took it in to my local computer shop (to a guy I have used for years and who is extremely good with computers) and got him to set it up for me, install various programs such as Office etc and generally get it running as I wanted it.

All worked well for a few days and then it started playing up - freezing completely several times a day. Took it back to local guy who did a system restore and re-installed all my extra bits - he thought the problem was caused by a rather large Windows update not installing properly.

Again, all worked well for a few more days - and now the B***** thing has started to freeze again ! The only way to get it going is to pull the plug and then re-start it.

I want to take it back to PC World and get a refund as it just isn't working and there appears to be some basic in-built problem. I can't see that it can be fixed by doing another restore as it didn't work for long last time and I'm really not satisfied that the computer is fit for purpose. I'm out of pocket anyway because I obviously paid the local guy to set it all up.

I reckon PC World will not be too happy to do a refund and am wondering exactly what I have the right to insist on. Its not a month old yet and the troubles started a couple of weeks ago.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

for those playing with the coke glitch, why both going over to Sains to get the coke. i know you get brand match but for the tiny bit extra is it worth it.

I buy 4 reg coke and 4 zero coke a time and use 4 labels so paying £1 for 8 bottles of coke plus get 4 more fresh labels to redo the offer. Yes my initial out lay has been £4 to buy the 4 bottles of reg coke at the start. But when you factor in the time and fuel to go else where is it worth it.

My only issue is what o do with the reg coke as i prefer diet.

I think the reason people are going to sainsbobs is because there is a chance the check out !!!. could put the vouchers through the till at £1 each.

I've seen the signs, although since when do we (I) spend £40 in one transaction?:eek::rotfl:

This succeeds in getting me to mention something now. That there was an offer on fuel on a Morrisons store a little bit away from me but not that far where the fuel at that store was about a penny cheaper than the others. Quite unusual as the store with that promo. was one a little 'out in the sticks' whereas the City stores were slightly higher price (despite being near A:D). No A out down there! However, that store seems to have made up for it. Petrol in the others (I assume most Ms if not all?) has increased by a penny in the past week or so - they actually put the prices up earlier - on one or two occasions I perhaps got near to mentioning it but didn't do so and you'd made me mention it now - but that store, the one that had the promo., has now increased its price more!! It's now about a penny higher than the City stores! So, making up for it now then:rotfl:. I did get my petrol at that 'out of town' store as it was then even slightly cheaper than A. Of course they expect that people visit the same store every time, which is largely I suspect true - so that, if they'd saved by the petrol promo. (only apparently on at that store and probably other selected ones across the country), now they are overpaying compared to the others so, in total, the difference is the same - may as well not have had the promo. at all - it's probably their way of getting people to buy from them because of the promo. which is then in event taken back and may as well have been constant price as they're now paying one p per litre more at that store!:rotfl: Of course, I'm not as I've moved to different Ms now for my fuel - or would have done had the price not gone up higher than A and am now with A as that is cheaper.
