So they are going to 'investigate' then are they? Or they have investigated and don't know the meaning of the word!

It's just a standard cut-and-paste from their website or else their PR line.

All this about obtaining a fair price - it's complete and utter nonsense IMO. Simply the usual PR/marketing claptrap.

What they mean is you've paid us more because our system couldn't find a product on the competitor's website that the competitor has for cheaper.

    That's a nasty little get-out clause there.

If that's to be the standard response whenever they are challenged, then there can be no challenges.

    This infuriates me!
If certain products are unavailable when checked, then they will be excluded from Tesco Brand Guarantee

If the product is excluded from the TBG then what it means that that you will pay more (than you would at a competitor), therefore to my mind contradicts and conflicts with their "never pay more" claim which is untrue and misleading and should therefore be banned by advertising standards. Do they prominently and boldly promote their "exclusion" alongside their "you'll never pay more" everytime they make that claim? They should do, IMO, and it should be equally as prominent - in other words everytime they should say "you'll never pay more if a product cannot be found then it is excluded" (which is actually a contradiction but we'll let that pass by) so that all customers can know in advance of paying exactly what the scheme is. This unexpected and unusual exclusion clause is not drawn to people's attention in the same way and therefore should be struck out.

And - "unavailable when checked". How can they be "checked" if they are not available?

I am sure the last time there was 25% off wine the meal deal wines had the offer missing? Can anyone remember? As it is showing the offer this time.

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/SpecialOffers/SpecialOfferDetail/Default.aspx?promoId=A31940717

    Hi TS,

It seems T have put the 25% offer on ALL the wines Regardless of whether they are in the offer or not. I checked these out yesterday. If you add 6 to your basket on .com it doesn't give you any discount, whereas it does with the others.

It just has me challenging and questioning it.

"The fairest way to get accurate prices for Asda and Sainsbury’s is to get them online."

No, it is not. I disagree with it and dispute it. Can you provide evidence to show and substantiate your own assertion, which I completely dispute, refute, deny and disagree with in every way and to the highest possible degree, that the fairest way is to get prices for these competitors online?:mad: You're the one making the claim! You should provide me evidence to show that it is true:p:mad:.

I'm moving on before I get maddened by it even more:mad:.

OK... so here's a question....and it's not intended to inflame but more to find out.....and perhaps get a bit of conversation and good banter on the thread.....

if you have 50 bottles of coke...do you drink them quicker than if you had a lesser amount, just because they are there?

I know when we have excesses of things that's usually the case...when it s rice we seem to have an extra pack just because we can....same with the odd bottle of wine and certainly in the days of penny chocs we always had a box open.

So aside from those who glitch to sell on....what do you do with your stashes and how long does it take to use them up...do you have more of something simply because.....

    open to all.....

I know we had this discussion a while back but my personal stance is

If I can get something for free either health and beauty (certain products only)
Laundry or food and drink I buy what I can afford allowing for the fact there are usually apps involved. If I can roll the apps again on same product that is ideal.
I try to keep in house 6 of everything I will personally use.
I give to my kids households only what I have got for free (rolled apgs) and I supply mum with a few items usually dishwasher or laundry.
The most I have ever kept in the house in the way of coke bottles is 12. Prefer cans so half bottle usually gets thrown. If 7 up free I might keep a few more as I use 2 bottles a week.

I try to only buy what is needed as I don't have the money to hoard.
It is rare something is totally free. That's usually a voucher like metro one we had for uncle Ben's. I don't really count free on APG as have to buy first.

I don't sell on flea bay nor do I do boot sales. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with a stall full of shampoo.
In the body shop days the sets sold well on Fb selling sites but that is all I have sold.

Once the first flush if glitching passes I think most of us consider if a glitch is worth chasing or not.
Very occasionally I have a glitch itch to scratch but that is very rare.

First year I have not done easter eggs. Just because I don't need them.

That is my choice made due to space and funds.
Downsizing house has been quite a shock and made me more determined to keep to the above.

Of course I also share things with the lovely N as she is out and about more so tends to pick things up for me.

Currently need a glitch on compressed deodorant :)
