  • Either way it is impossible for the volunteers to police, so the forum team get involved.
Their (PAID) job is to ensure the OWNERS are happy and to ensure the ADVERTISERS are happy with where THEIR MONEY is being spent, advertisers dont want to be associated with a site full of nastiness and bickering.
I know I cannot influence idiots, PITA etc, but anyone who wants to keep the thread(s) going and the facility to remain.

If you see anyone posting crap its because they want to destroy your thread/community, so bite your tongue. Unless your plan is to bring it down too.

No one advertises on MSE so we don't have any other companies to answer to, I'm afraid! It's just us at MSE Towers that want this to be a supportive place, and most of the forumites of course :)
so i also have to ask if you know and we know whose doing this why do you allow them to continue to post?i have only reported a couple of posts since i registered including one the other day which was vile also reported by others yet that poster still able to post.

We like to give everyone a fair chance. We all have bad days and can say things we don't mean. There's a card system outlined in the rules which we follow. This means that 'first-time offenders' as such can be allowed to post again, but if we see repeated behaviour it can eventually lead to being banned.

Do you look at patterns of IP use at all? I've been an admin on a very busy site for many years, when someone is a regular nuisance we ban all the IP addresses they've used to help discourage multiple accounts.
