    Good morning Elite :hello:

Cloudy start here today and a little windy. I've made a start on my list of things I've got to do  Made a start in the garage so far, up and out there at 7.30am  yes early for me but needs must :)

I can now get to my shelving easier, taken some of my stash out there and reorganised date order. Not much conditioner left but still have washing liquid.

Evangaline it's lovely to see you posting again, rocco does seem to be heaven sent for you. I wish you all the luck in the world on continuing success for you both X

I knew that by speaking out last would cause a stir but to be honest, that's what I was doing, being honest. We know damn well what going to happen to the stuff from those 50 boxes and the remaining 150 to come. Whoopie that he is sending a few items to someone but the majority is as always, going to be sold.
It is the sheer amount of greed that gets to me, not him having pics posted. The greed that enables free holidays etc.

No more to be said by me on that matter, I've made my point.

Hugs to people in need, hope you are feeling better soon.

    Happy shopping Elite X

Problem is there are snide comments made by both sets of people, some of the later in the evening posts are then deleted and just the ones biting are left making some people look bad.

I'm here for the glitches and the laugh, I'm not into dog pictures but I don't moan about it or put the people posting on ignore because of it.

I've not managed to get Andrex, none in my Express but if there were, I would have taken them all. Does that make me a bad person? Hell no I would have sent some to Nerf as it sounds like he needs it for his son after this mornings posts :money:

If someone winds you up, post a picture of your dog(that seems popular) forget their post, and move on.

I don't have a dog...although Poppy is very nice and its been lovely to hear from evangeline and see pics of Rocco...but that aside I understand what you say.

I would be 6 feet under if in honesty I hadn't moved on or forgotten some posters disagreements over the years.
I've been hurt and nothing anyone wrote here would ever hurt me like the pain I have been through in real life

The thread is made up of allsorts of personalities and a genuine mix of people who at times will never all get on with eachother...and the use of AE's,well that's up to the individual if they want to keep in touch or not....I don't have one.

But come what may I still believe everyone deserves respectful posting.
I might not agree with some of the things I see or read on here but what I am always conscious of is putting my point across in hopefully a respectful way whether or not I agree or disagree...

There is a time and a place for a right to reply or indeed a healthy debate which doesn't mean that those words need to be masked in snide comments or double meaning jibes

OK I have no experience in this and possibly my views are not worth 2p.

but if a boss spoke to me like this I would be handing in my notice

I don't know what your finances are like but you are a self employed bookmaker so in theory you have a skill that is great demand - even if its just on an irregular basis - see what happens if you market yourself and your skills - streetlife, local FB groups, notice boards in local shops, leaflet drops etc.

if something is not giving you pleasure and joy, if you don't look forward to going into work, if you are not finding satisfaction then it is not worth the misery - life is short enough as it is

I need some advice and its not about glitches or Tesco toys.

I work as a self employed bookkeeper in a small van hire/garage business. I work 21 hours a week and in addition to admin and bookkeeping I answer the phone and take messages when my boss and the other chap are on the phone or out on a call.
People often call for a basic one day hire price and I have a chart written out with the prices but if people ask for a weekend/week hire rate I am unable to do it as the chart does not show the correct price ( something to do with VAT). So for anything over a days hire I take a number and say they will get a call back. Also they have always made a big fuss about me using the hire software as they think I'll break it. Although recently they have allowed me to when they were out and it was the only way a hire could happen. My boss however was not at all worried about me using the Sage bookkeeping software even though I had no previous knowledge of it and I just had a crib sheet a previous employee had written.
When I joined 2 years ago the lady in my position previously had left suddenly and the books were in complete disarray and its only the last couple of months that with the help of the accountant I can see the end of the tunnel. I really like my job as the hours are flexible, work enjoyable and its close to home.

But yesterday something happened and I now don't know if i can stay. Earlier in the week a lady rang and obviously spoke to my boss trying to arrange an urgent MOT for her daughter She called the next day to give her reg and phone number and asked me how much a MOT was. Now i do the invoicing so I know what we charge £49.00 without VAT but I said I was not sure but I thought about £50.00. Girl came in car passed MOT and when she came to collect it he charged her £49.00 for MOT AND £42.50 being one hours labour for checking lights and levels ( which I don't believe was done ) for basically driving it 50 yards to the MOT station. She came and got car and paid and that evening her boyfriend started sending my boss threatening emails from his work email ( a local solicitor) which unfortunately turned nasty as the boss of that firm is my bosses soicitor.

So boss came into my office to tell me this and asked if I had given her a price and I told him I had given her an approximate price. He then said " In the nicest possible way you are a nosey parker, this is my business not yours and you need to just do your job and keep out of things that don't concern you" I then said I usually only give one day hire prices and nothing else and it was a mistake. Luckily I was on half day as I was going away for 2 days work with my sister but I was so upset when I got home that I cancelled the work and am at home.

I text my boss later and said I need to talk to him today. Firstly now having got the books straight I was looking to up my hourly rate as I started on a lower rate two years ago as I was inexperienced with the software. Yes I made a mistake but I am really upset about what he said to me about being a nosey parker. For the rest of the morning I just took long messages and put them on his desk when there was at least one I could have helped with as one was regarding monies owed by a creditor but I even put that on his desk.

I am really tempted to just walk away and start again. I admit that I shouldnt have given her a price as such but its the personal remark I cant stomach.Sorry for such a long winded post just looking for advice
