Glad your both thinking along the same lines.it would be a terrible thing to full out over. But weddings are so stressful. You saw dd2 dress it was lovely but cost under £200. luckily neither of the girls want to waste money, dd2 is saving for mortgage and dd1 has not sold her second house so is paying the mortgage on that. First house is mortgage free though. Dd1 reckons her wedding will come in at well under £4000 and that includes paying for the youth hostel all weekend for people to stay. Dd2 was just under £5000 and that was renting 6 cottages as well for 4 days .

I love the idea of renting the cottages, are they all on one site? and the youth hostel is a fabulous idea - many of the buildings are so beautiful and set in fantastic grounds

mhoc have you seen those new washing machines i think are samsung which have a little hatch in the door that you can add washing to a wash that's already on? i'd love one but they are sooooooo expensive

My old machine I used to be able to open once the cycle had started. but in the old days, pre empty nest I was doing at least and usually 3 loads a day so if something missed the wash I would do doing another towel or shirts or suchlike wash very shortly. I am only doing a towel and whites wash now twice or 3 times a week so when something goes astray its more of an issue.

but there is an even more obvious answer though. When we are on holiday I always wash undies, bras and even small tops in the shower so then there is never an undies pile waiting for attention.

hope the interview goes well. If he does decide on Bangor and they do decide on him will he travel in each day or will he find student accommodation?

Thanks . he will travel each day. Take just over an hour .Bus passes cost £60 a term so not bad. but i do think as they gave to stay on in education they should not gave to pay.

Its a very long trip each day. Possibly though if he finds a mate who lives closer he could stay over with them on days he has a late finish and an early start the next day

My youngest only did 4 college days in a week so that worked out better
