do you think i'll be the coolest mum ever to my son's friends when they get these in their party bags? (although they won't fit in the bags):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Although I can see you have the best of intentions, personally I wouldn't go with this plan as it has the potential to backfire (pun unintended :D). If your school/circle is anything like ours, there are norms for presents etc that people tend to stick to - an item of this value in a party bag could cause upset with parents and raise the bar too high for future parties. Perhaps saving them in the gift cupboard for presents for return parties would achieve the same but without upsetting the balance?

I mean this in the best possible way.

Maybe I just worry too much - I do go on what something is worth rather than what I have paid as I prefer to keep my style of shopping private.

Mixed Peppers are now against T:

    1x ASDA Grower's Selection Mixed Peppers (3PK) £0.85 £0.85

However, I once came across a single specific type of individual pepper in Lidl for 25p. However that offer will doubtless not be available at present?

Thanks for this, it's very helpful seeing it laid out like this as this is the sort of thing I'd be tempted to randomly throw in to a shop.

Neither have I. :o The only units will be the run from the boiler through to the larder on the windows wall. We are sure it is going to work for us but the girls aren't.

This is the freestanding larder we are getting, don't look at the price. :o

    http://thefreestandingkitchen.com/product/centre-larder-with-stone-shelf/

Will store all the dried foods in here, no more mouldy lasagne sheets I hope. ;)

This unit is really beautiful T's. Plenty of storage for Mr T's.
I have just ordered another base unit for the kitchen in my new house as decided I will not be having a dishwasher £180 plus vat and same again for fitting. Needless to say I will be fitting it myself then look for shelves for about the fridge freezer as definitely not paying out for a unit there.
An extra unit will be far more useful to me than a dishwasher so money well spent.

    TSM&W are so expensive :eek::eek::eek:

They are, on A's offers. However, if you wait a few days and pick some of the items that are higher priced in A but on 28p in M, M will be cheaper (whether or not A compares).

I thought about these A 29p items earlier - in the sense of nowhere else will now match A's price (through price promises, vouchers, points etc.) so they are to be bought from A. However, obviously not on an APG shop. Preferably on a shop where everything is well more than 10% cheaper than anywhere comparable and A's price is as cheap as possible - and no need to go to the length of buying unnecessary different items - just whatever you need, whether it is as many as 8 or not:cool:.

*Good filler, right at this moment. Except that :(2.5Kg white potatoes are the same price at the moment, so why buy 1Kg and be 'shortchanged' by 1.5Kg? 1Kg Carrots are 28p in M. It may be thought "they continue to miss them, despite how obvious the 28p veg. offers are". However, they weren't on that offer on Wednesday last that we are currently on and, whilst they may be blatant in my Ms, might be in a different set-up in other Ms that they check. We'll give them another chance and see if wombles continue to show them N/A (as I suspect they most likely will) once the pricing changes, before I then criticise them for missing them. I don't think they are not noticing them as such, it is probably just that there is some problem in the system that is failing to link the A and M items up:(. I found a - store-specific - pack of whoopsied carrots at 29p in M that weighed in somewhat more than 1Kg so would have been, on weight, better than the 1Kg at 28p. However, I have well enough carrots already (bought at a bit more expensive price:eek:) so didn't buy them. If you can find the 1.5Kg Wonky Carrots on 35p on their BB date, they also work out cheaper - but, at 50p regular price, they are more expensive!

Thanks for this, it's very helpful seeing it laid out like this as this is the sort of thing I'd be tempted to randomly throw in to a shop.

I'm not tempted:rotfl: - it's the sort of thing that I deliberately walk straight past when doing my APG shop earlier for example. I know that they are going to lose out significantly so do not buy them in that way! I will buy them on their own:D. I did actually consciously think of this when I walked into the store and immediately straight past the veg. that everyone normally is stopping to pick up. Obviously I did not want to buy those items on my shop!:rotfl: I wanted the good items against M, in my case, including the glitchy when bought in the right quantity Creme Eggs item:D.

No temptation now - you are hardly going to buy Baby Potatoes as shortchanged by 1.5Kg and the Carrots are no good as they are cheaper to buy at 28p in M. So, even the two N/A items (and even then both only against W and one only of them against M) are no good. The rest may be good when not bought on the APG. So, in short, avoid the whole lot of them on the APG!

Toilet Cleaner is also a bit of a no-no, along with probably the vast majority of SP items other than the four above. SP frozen Mixed Veg. is alright vs S - but why would you get that given 29p fresh veg.? Reminds me - SP (frozen) Cauliflower equivalent has gone down a few pence in M, so wait on that now too!

There may be N/A Sainsbobs SP items, but which technically lose a few pence as comparable vs elsewhere at same price but lose that as getting no 10% on them on Sainsbob comp.

SP Pork Pies at 89p are actually a Sains. item as not available there - and they are more than 10% cheaper than anywhere to which they compare. Have you spending far more than 10p in a minute:rotfl::doh:. However, 4 pack standard range Pork Pies in M are £1 and are weighter pies so, technically, on weight are oh slightly better - but would you ever consume portions of a single pie? You would be spending 11p more shopping in M, for the same number of pies even if technically they are a bit more weight. Maybe heavier ingredients rather than anything substantive:rotfl:.

Same thing (but in reverse) goes with the Savers Loaves - I find there are more slices in the ones in M (about one slice more) than elsewhere. Yet M's are 720g compared to elsewhere all at 800g. So, I am getting less weight - for the same price as A SP. That said, I don't go for A SP much - seems to me to be the 'worst quality' bread of them all. But maybe M is simply using lighter bread yet the amount may be the same. Anyway, if the slices are slightly smaller (which you'd have thought, to get 80g less overall), it's avoiding excessive consumption, so win on that ground there!

Arguably, what you want to avoid re. SP on Avs S is ones that are well more expensive in S - those on which A are more than 10% cheaper. Others may compare to S at slightly higher price but still not be 10% cheaper so may not lose APG in that sense (although they may not be being compared to another competitor at a better price than S). I may go through the SP items at some not-too-distant point and identify those where A either aren't 10% cheaper or are exactly 10% cheaper so of neutral effect on the APG (even if S is more expensive than other competitors).
