I am washing up in my front porch. :rotfl: Neighbours will wonder why I'm staring out onto the road.

But I am getting the water from downstairs toilet sink. We have a temporary fix putting hand over bath mixer opening hot and turning on cold to push through air lock it's giving us half a bowl water downstairs each time.

We had 2 of my girls birthdays last week purposely planned the start after them but was bit of a nightmare with only 3 days to completely clear and rip out old kitchen including tiles and coving. Saving money where we can by doing as much as we can ourselves well Mr TS really, he worked bloomin hard yesterday. :A

Lad has just given me quote for 2 new tyres just over £100 fitted for same ones as already on there. :money: Just been chatting to him he used to be a kwik fit fitter and just moved down here how jammy is that him being here. :D Says he will order when he gets home tonight and they should arrive tomorrow and he will fit tomorrow evening. :)

I think that's called having the solution before you have the problem! How fast is that for problem-solving - well done you. :T

Feel for you with the kitchen - in a previous house when I had the kitchen walls taken back to the brick to be re-plastered, they actually left me the old sink unit in the middle of the room, connected to cold water mains by means of an old washing machine inflow pipe, with a bucket under the plughole for the water. That job went on for 2 weeks  then I had the new kitchen put in. I remember a friend visiting and shaking her head in despair saying 'Oh I couldn't live like this....':rotfl:

It'll be lovely when it's all done. :)

My little Tesco had a big freezer of lamb the other day, all on offer, might be worth looking online.

    Edit - yes, £5 kilo at T.

Same here, I've already bought my new flooring as it was half price a couple of weeks ago, I know it would have been full price when we were ready to buy it! I've got my sink too;) they are all stacked in the corner of the kitchen.
We had a quote to fit the integrated appliances, didn't ask for it, they just added it on separately is it really that difficult to slide an oven into a cupboard, fix with a few screws and plug in??

We have already got our sink too. :D And the taps. Quote from kitchen company included them but we managed to source the exact same ones nearly £100 cheaper from Tap warehouse. :money:

Once the building work is done, plastering and floor tiled we are doing our own decorating before the units arrive ready built. I admit they are not cheap but having never had a new kitchen so I think it's deserved. :o

Not sure about ovens don't they have to have special fuses, ours is gas, I know fridges, freezers and washing machines can be plugged in no worries.

I am so used to buying whoopsied meat, I haven't a clue what's a good deal so thanks springdreams. :)

It's not often lamb is whoopsied though and haven't managed to get any for ages once I was lucky and got three lovely joints same time as they were brought out later than everything else.

Well the crime scene being sealed off is working no dust is getting in the rest of the house :T, the wall is down already.

And the stone shelf and step is out of the old larder, some of that they had to use a grinder to get out.:eek:

I looked in the back door and it is going to make so much of a difference, I know we can't take the whole wall down due to the mains electric coming through at that point. I didn't want the floor up as well, and it will mean we will have a corner where the table can sit one side which I think will be cosier.

The whole of the shell is going to be tiled so no more damp under lino when the washing machine leaks and no naff kitchen carpet from the 70s. :j

I am starting to get excited now, it is going smoothly so far we don't need a RSJ or lintel what ever it is called as the wall was not load bearing and joists are running opposite way not sure whether that will cut the cost that much as now it means we can have both ceilings running flush now which will be slightly more work but look a whole lot better. :D

Have you inadvertently activated your "Do Not Disturb" settings on your iPhone Mhoc?

    Settings -> Do Not Disturb

Then check your phone settings. I have mine set on scheduled so that the phone is on silent between 10pm and 7am.

I think that might be it, a while ago I noticed a moon icon and said to OH I didn't know what it was

I don't remember messing with the settings but I suspect fowl play :)

but I've adjusted it on both the ipad and the iphone - peculiar that both were on silence.

I've also altered the schedule time so I get should now get the midnight conversations and the crack of dawn ones :T
